I learned what they are and that they are important in the environment. They tell us how the water is. If there is a high number of them the water isn't polluted. I also learned that they eat algae and break down leaves and sticks.

I learned that they can tell you the quality of the water. Depending on what microinvertibrite is in the water. They're important because they can tell you if the water is harmful or safe, or if it's safe but not safe at the same time.7_7

what surprised me was that thier was a lot of marcroinvertebrates. macroinvertebrates are also an important part of the water. They graze on algae and break down leaves and sticks that fall into the water. They are also an important food source for fish.

i learned that i focus better outside than inside on a stiff cold chair. but in mr b's i can hear the birds chirping and the frogs croaking. So i can learn better outside than inside.

What shocked me about Macroinvertebrates is how the leave their shell or body casing and when we searched the water we found a large shell or casing or the Macroinvertevrates the also have very long skinny legs their legs are so thin they look like hair and i thought that was very interesting

One thing that surprised me about macroinvertebrates was just how many there are and how many things they can tell you about the water. Macroinvertebrates are important because they can tell you based one the type how good of quality the water that they are in is.

The thing I learned about Macroinvertebrates that surprised me is the fact that they can tell you the quality of water just by seeing what species they are. Macroinvertebrates are important because they are an important food source for fish and as I said in the last sentence they can tell you the quality of water by seeing what species they are.

What I learned about macroinvertabrites is that their are so many of them living in Mr.B´s Backyard Classroom. What surprised me about macroinvertabrites is that most of them don´t have a backbone and some macroinvertibrates have a backbone.

The things we learned about the macro invertebrates at Mr. B's that surprised me was that they were in the pond the whole time and that they if you go to the pond and disturb the water with the net you can get one and its that easy. They are important because they are apart of the food chain and and they break down plants.

I learned that macroinvertebrates are very small and live in pond and that they tell you a lot about the pond that their in. i also learned that the butterflies come to places with certain flowers.

Macroinvertebrates provide food for living organisms. They live in water. Also they are mostly hard to see but some are larger than the other. They consist of different species.

It suprised me that they help improve the quality of the water, I didn't really know that. They tell you whether or not the water they are in is polluted or clean. There are also many different knids some with legs some with antenae some without you never know.

The most important thing that I learned about macroinvertebrates (macros) was just how abundant they are. Moreover, they are very important to the ecosystem: they can determine water quality, and they provide food for many animals, since they are so low on the food chain.

I learned facts about macroinvertebrates that were not only interesting, but also surprising. The first fact is, dragonfly larvae, called dragonfly nymphs, which are macroinvertebrates in this stage, do not have wings and they look like they glide over the water. This was surprising to me, because I did not expect dragonfly nymphs to have wings. Also, since they don't have wings at this stage, they cannot fly like they do once they are adults. Even though they could not fly, I did not expect them to be able to glide over the water. The second fact that was surprising to me was, macroinvertebrates like to hide. I thought that they would be easy to find, but in order to capture some of them, we had to disturb the soil at the bottom of the pond in Mr. B’s Backyard. The last fact that was surprising to me was, macroinvertebrates do not have a backbone. This surprised me because, for humans, it would not be possible to live without a backbone and I thought that it was the same way with all other insects and macroinvertebrates. I have learned many facts about macroinvertebrates that were surprising to me.

Aquatic macroinvertebrates are an important part of aquatic and terrestrial food chains. They graze on algae and break down leaves and sticks that fall into the water. They are also an important food source for fish. They are the basic starting point for Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. Without these bone-less and extraordinary creatures our wonderful program provided by Mr.Sommers would not be a possibility. ^-^ ^-^ :)

I learned that macroinvertebrates are these small bugs and have no bones. Macroinvertebrates are important because if we didn't have them than other animals like the frog would be able to eat which in turn than the whatever eats the frog won't eat so the whole food chain will get messed up if we didn't have macroinvertevrates.

I learned about something I had never even HEARD of before. But it was pretty cool. These macroinvertebrates apparently can tell you the water quality of some water just by examining them up close. There are many variables that go into determining water quality, but these guys can tell you about them without even using any of the expensive materials that scientists might use to find water quality.
