I learned about watersheds, macroinvertebrates, and the mallard duck. My favorite memory is seeing one of my teachers freaking out about seein a snake.
My favorite memory was when Aaron , Matt and I were just walking by and Matt screamed and cried like a baby because he saw a snake . I learned about how many organisms and animals live in one small pond
I learned a lot from Mr.B's backyard classroom this year, It was really fun to go outside and learn about all of these different animals. We also got to look at all the animals in Mr.b's and it was a lot funner to learn that way. In my opinion Mr.B's is a great way to teach us about many different animals.
This year in Mr.B's Backyard I learned a lot about Macro invertebrates, Foxes from my Nature fest topic, And population inferences from samples. I saw a lot of snakes, frogs, and even a Mallard Duck with its nest. Mr.B's Backyard classroom has taught me a lot of nature and it was fun to go outside to Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
I learned very cool things about the ecosystem I live in. I learned what a energy pyramid, Abotic, botic, and microinvordibernte. It was a really great experience. I wish it continues for many years to come.
I learned that snakes can live in water or out of water like in the sand. But one of my favorite memories was when we went to Mr. B's and we found a whole bunch of snakes and I was really close to get bit by a black racer. Them snakes are really fast but we saw this big fat and long snake when we were walk near the snake whole, it popped out really quickly, and we all was like Mrs. Sommers! There is a snake in the pot hole, that's how fun it was! I hope we could go to Mr. B's again next year.
the things that surprise me Mr. B's with endless especially in the spring in the spring compared to the fall I have seen many many changes that involves lots of lots of plant growth and many many different organisms evolving and making even more of their families Mr Bean always excite me every time I go out there its always more and more to the summer importantly surprised me was the growth of organisms and how much the food went and routine is demonstrated now by saying that thank you know the plane frog and sayings for the frogs and stuff like that and also one thing that I found out is that there are lots of frogs than evolve and you know you're a lot faster than all the other organism and then also that the environment inside Mr B's is very distinct and unique in its own way because it has lots of different and lots of unique characteristics that other environments does not have I'm very very appreciative of all the hard work and all the practice in all the practices and organizations coming together to make this thing happen I pray and hope that it continues to go on and on even when I leave the school thank you for introducing me to Mr B's there was a wonderful experience.
I learned a lot of useful and surprising information in Mr.B's backyard! I learned about various ecosystems. Also how to identify flowers, which I found really cool! My favorite memory was when Mrs. Sommers was kind enough to take time out of her day to show us around Mr.B's backyard, to find wildflowers. She then pressed those flowers, and we were able to use them in our presentation. I found that really fun and it was really cool showing the kids the actual flowers in person. My final thoughts about Mr.B's would be, Awesome! It gives kids a chance to learn about many different things. It also helps us with our social skills too! I really thank all of the teachers who have contributing there time to make Mr.B's backyard possible, because they have done an amazing job! Also a special thanks to Mrs.Sommers, for teaching us so many cool things, and for helping us with our presentation, and putting so much hard work into Mr.B's! Thank you!!! <3
In Mr.B's, I learned more about the specious in Mr.B's backyard classroom. There are a lot of types of organisms that live there. I learned a lot about the macro invertebrates and there jobs. A memory that i had at Mr.B's was when Matt, Evan and i were walking down the path and Matt screamed snake and ran the opposite way.
Mr.B's has taught me so much about our ecosystem and all the little things that make our world what it is.They all make a big impact, from the tadpoles to the birds they have made me want to go back to Mr.B's more and more. One of my favorite memories from Mr.B's is when we went to learn about macro-invertebrate and got to use the nets to catch the macro-invertebrates and we got to study them.Mr.B's has made a huge impact on my view in science and it will stay with me forever.
nature fest was amazing!I thought that talking about animals was weird but it was fun.i would love to do it next year!
I've learned a lot from Mr.b's backyard classroom! I've learned several different species of animals, More about watersheds, Different owl species, Types of bugs and birds, Types of snakes and so much more! My favorite memory of Mr. B's Backyard Classroom is the Nature fest. It was so much fun! I got to hang out with my friends, And be outside, Moving around and having fun! Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was very fun and nice place to walk around and enjoy the nature! It's always fun when i go to Mr. B's Backyard Classroom and ill miss it!
I learned that Mr. B's always changes over the seasons. Either the weather or the animals or even the trees. All the leaves change over the season, I don't mean change shape, but they change color. Over some seasons like Winter the wildlife changes. For example, snakes and birds don't come out as often as they would if it was Summer or Spring. Over the seasons there are a lot of different weather conditions, like dry, hot, humid, foggy, snow, hail, cold, windy. All of these can effect the plants and wildlife of Mr. B's.
My favorite memory of Mr. B's is catching all of the tadpoles for our nature fest project and watching them all grow in froglets and some into grown frogs.
One thing that I learned in Mr.B's backyard classroom was how each organism had its own role. Together they make one ecosystem. My favorite memory in Mr.B"s was the time i saw the Northern Water snake. Those are a few cool things I experienced in Mr.B"s.
I learned that Mr. B's has a complex ecosystem and contains many different animals and bugs. Also i learned that Mr B's is a watershed.
I learned a lot from the guest speakers and project over the course of the year. Like when one of the speakers that came in frequently taught us about the watersheds of New Jersey. Like how we need to protect our watershed . Also we learned about pollution, and how pollution will damage our watershed .
But I created a lot of memories this year. But I only have one favorite with one of y good friends Matt. So me and Matt are walking by the cat tails and we see a snake thick as a 4 inch binder and about 6 feet long. We ran so fast that we were at the other end of Mr.B's in 2.5 seconds. That's my favorite memory.
nature fest was really fun. it wasn't as bad as i thought talking to little kids about frogs
Mr.B's was very different than everything else I've done during school. Compared to last years science class this year was more productive. We were more hands on with nature. My best experience at Mr.B's was, nature fest. We got to interact with the little and older kids about a certain topic. Mr.b's was really cool over all i liked it
i think Mr b's backyard was fun i liked how we learned about different animals that are in the ecosystem and there habitat nothing that can make Mr b's better
I started being involved in Mr. B's ever since 4th grade in Reeds Road , but I was part of Nature Fest in 5th grade. As the years went by , I learned more about Mr. B's than I did before. My favorite memory of Mr. B's was being part of Nature Fest.
I learned many things this year by going to Mr. B's Backyard Classroom, but I wish we spent more time outside and went out more than we did. I also wished that we did more fun activities. I thought Mr. B's was a great experience especially since I have never visited it when i was in sixth grade. Being involved at Mr. B's made me learn things about nature and notice what not to do and be more caring to the world around us. By doing my Nature Fest project I hope I taught kids that visited, things that they didn't know and influenced them to be excited for seventh grade when they do this project. Mr. B's this year was absolutely fantastic and I think there really shouldn't be any improvements. Great Job to everyone in Nature Fest and good luck for the new seventh graders next year. Mr. B's was a blast.
We learned many things like macroinvertabretes and different species like the northern water snake that actually lives in the pond! we also learned about the pinelands. this was really fun and educational. if it weren't for Mr. B's i wouldn't have learned the things I did.
I learned plenty about our local ecosystems, and the positive and unique organisms. The unique ecosystem we live around is very cool and efficient how it runs, and how organisms help support the ecosystem with their adaptations through out time. My first memory of Mr. B's happened in my fourth grade year, it still haunts me to this day, but it doesn't bother me anymore as it's cool to me now. It creep ed up on the first pond's bank. It slithered with it's rough black spine. The Black Rat Snake was my first actual memory of Mr. B's. All in all, Mr. B's is just a slither of our ecosystem that is all around us which is phenomenal. It's plant life, and animal life are just simply awesome.
The things that I learned in Mr. B's was how the birds nested. Also I learned what types of bugs and insects that are in Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.I have also learned how birds make their nests. My favorite memory of Mr.B's was seeing all of the animals bugs, insects, and snakes.
I learned this year in Mr. B's backyard classroom what macro invertebrates are and what they do. Macro invertebrates are organisms without a spine and can be seen with the naked eye. They are the base of the food chain and tell if the water is polluted or not. My favorite memory was the first time we went there. Since I never been their, it was cool to see the animals, insects. Mr. Bs was awesome, and it was a good learning experience.
I learned this year in Mr.B's is that how bullfrogs have different stages in there life cycle. Also how Mr. B's is a watershed. My favorite of Mr.B's memory is how the guest speaker from watershed did the model.Mr.B's was my first experiences and it was nice to go out of the class room and learn about our environment.
Well, I learned about the animals, watersheds, and pine-lands of Mr. B's. Like for Nature Fest, Snakes! Black Rat Snakes are not just black you know! But anyway, at Mr. B's though, I saw many visitors(4th to 8th Graders), like at the end of my shift, my Neighbor Jessica.V, I saw when I was leaving. I was Glad to see her, even though see looked Gloomy :(. But other then that, it was great. I even ate lunch and presented to someone at the same time! :D
This year, I learned about watersheds, macro invertebrates, changes between seasons, animals and plants in Mr. B's, and the importance of wildlife and nature. My favorite memory of Mr. B's was teaching others about my topic, the mallard and wood ducks, during Nature Fest. They paid close attention, and it felt nice to show off everything I had learned. Mr. B's was really fun, and I learned many interesting things about nature this year.
I really enjoyed the experience at Mr.B's. It was nice to be a teacher for once, and give people knowledge about my organism. It feels great to know that you have actually taught someone facts they can now share with others. I liked the way you split us into the AM and PM as well. The set up for Mr.B's was nice this year. I will be looking forward to Mr.B's next year, hopefully if our team goes.
This year have been, no lie, my best year of school yet. It was amazing. We learned much, but we also had fun learning. Especially science class. Usually, in a normal science class, one would copy notes from books or dissect frogs but we did not do that (thank God!!!). Sure, there were times when we had to copy some notes, but then again, what class doesn't?
But the thing was, we didn't just copy notes all day, we had fun. We went outside to Mr. B's and let me tell you, no matter how late I stayed up the night before, I never fell asleep in Mr.B's. Everything was just so exciting, so interesting. It made me want to learn, to explore, to stay outside. I always felt a little down every time I heard the whistle, signaling the time to go in. I, and I'm sure many others have learned so much from and in Mr.B's. We learned all about the different types of birds that reside in NJ, macroinvertibrates, frogs, snakes, and we even got to study some up close!!!
Every moment in Mr. B's is special to me, but i have to say my favorite memory of Mr. B's has to be right before our Nature Fest. It was the last time that we would be able to be at Mr. B's that year, and my friend and I decided to take a walk around Mr.B's for the last time. I had fun catching little toads and frogs smaller than the tip of my pinky. I have to say, I will definitely miss this place.
This year I learned many things about Mr.B's Backyard classroom. I learned about watersheds, macro-invertebrates, sampling and organisms in Mr.B's Backyard Classroom such as bullfrogs and northern water snakes.
My favorite memory from Mr.B's Backyard Classroom is taking people on tour guides around the pond and teaching about watersheds, snakes, groundhogs, birds and different trees and shrubs. I could inform adolescents and be closer to nature. I was enthusiastic about teaching and the students definitely learned a lot. I was simply being me.
My final thought about Mr.B's is that Mr.B's is an amazing thing that helped me so much. Mr.B's is near and dear to my heart. Mr.B was a close friend of mine and me learning what I know he wanted all the students to learn means more to me than I can describe. Being closer to nature is truly an experience I love.
I learned many things this year at Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. I learned how ecosystems work together to create a balance in the environment. Also, I learned about many different species in New Jersey from visiting Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. I saw different snakes, frogs, and birds, as well as many trees, shrubs, and bushes. I also learned about the ponds and watershed of Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
One of my favorite memories of Mr.B's Backyard Classroom, known as Mr.B's by most students, was being a tour guide during Nature Fest. With most of the Nature Fest being huddled groups of energetic adolescents, I was glad to give tours to many kids interested in the environment. Also, the kids were mirthful to hear what I had to say about Mr.B's.
My experiences at Mr.B's were enjoyable. Although I wish we could have spent more time outside without instruction, I enjoyed myself outside in the quiet peace of Mr.B's. I hope that the kids entering my school next year will have as much enjoyment and new experiences as I did. Being in Mr.B's warms my heart and makes my day just a little better.
learned many things such as what lives in Mr. B's .And what what macro invertebrates are. My favorite memory is when we were sampling around the ponds in Mr.B's
My favorite memory was the nature fest, even though i wasn't one of the projects in Mr.B's i got to see some that were, and i really liked them. I have learned a lot in Mr.B's classroom this year. For example, i learned that snakes, such as the black racer, live in Mr.B's. I also learned about the mallard duck, since one had laid eggs in Mr.B's, but as for now we don't know where she is. I also learned that jellyfish tentacles can still sting without being attached to the body of the jellyfish.
To improve Nature Fest we don't really need to do anything. Honestly, i think Nature Fest is perfect as it is. I'm looking forward to it next year.
This year we had learned many interesting things about Mr. B's and the environment around it. We had seen species of different birds, snakes, frogs, and even plants. I had no clue about many topics we had discussed, but soon i had discovered many facts including that the Blacker Racer snake that habitats Mr.B's sheds its skin only once a year and they can reach up to 55 inches in length. Mr. B's was an amazing 2015 experience. I cant wait for next year!
I've honestly learned so much this year. Especially when we did the nature fest project. I learned how watersheds can be big or small. How many snakes were in Mr.B's backyard, and I learned how pollution does more damage than what we think it does.
I think that everything we did was good enough for the projects and for the kids to learn, because they enjoyed it very much and they were kinda entertained. But, we should have just a little bit more games.
To be honest, before this, I didn't know anything at all about all the stuff people have chosen, including my groups, watersheds.
Next year, I hope y'all enjoy it too. But, make sure you only put important facts and pictures and fun games that go with the subject you have chosen.
I have enjoyed Mrs.Bs backyard and i enjoyed going there all though the school year.
Snakes can swim in water. seeing the tadpole go to a frog was my favorite memory in Mr. B's. The pond are so amazing how life is growing.
Nature fest was really fun i enjoyed it there was a lot of kids going to me and Veannas table we did the spring peer and chorus frogs a lot of the kids enjoyed it and said are presentation and game was fun.Even when the kids lost the game we gave them a prize but only one and the winners would get two prizes.Overall i think the nature fest was a learning and fun experience
I learned that every pond needs macroinvertebrates. Also, the pond quality differs with the type of macroinvertebrates. Macroinvertebrtes that can not tolerate pollution, show that the water quality is better than normal. If the macroinvertebrates are tolerant, than the water quality is bad.
The nature fest was a fun day outside. It refreshed me of all the stuff we were doing in class by taking me outside. We had our presentation next to salt water fish so we got some attention. Mr. Bs was fun.
Throughout the year I have learned many things about Mr.B's backyard. For example, I have learned many things about nature, organisms, and ecosystems. I found many things interesting at Mr.B's because this was my first time every experiencing it this year. The best memory i had this year at Mr.B's was nature fest. I enjoyed this nature fest the best because I got to teach my topic to kids.
I leaned that all the organisms interact with each other to create a food chain or web. My favorite memory about Mr. B's is nature fest. It was really fun to learn about a new topic and present it to others. I enjoyed interacting with the little kids. Mr. B's is a wonderful place to learn about and be in.
This year in Mr.B's I learned a lot about nature. I learned about watersheds, all types of animals, and what the guest speakers wanted to say about our and what will happen if we don't take care of it.
My favorite part about Mr.B's Backyard was Nature Fest. We get to teach the kids what we think about Mr. B's and what inspires kids to do when they grow up. I'm glad that all of us gets a chance to teach someone different.
My favorite memory about going to Mr. B's Backyard Classroom is the Nature Fest because I enjoyed teaching my own family about the New jersey Goldfinch and learning about a few things myself. Specifically, something that I learned about Mr. B's was that Dragonflies like to hang out by the dock and leave there exo-skeletons on the rope. My final thought about Mr. B's was what if something happened to Mr. B's? Could it be fixed? Hopefully, something bad will never happen to this wonderful place.
Some Things I learned this year in Mr.b's backyard is that I learned about pollution such as run off and all sort of sources as of where pollution came from. Another thing I learned from Mr.b's is I learned about all the animals and other organisms that live there such as damsel fly snakes and more. Lastly I learned about how to tell the difference between a damsel fly and a dragon fly. My favorite memory at Mr.B's is Nature Fest. I really loved doing nature fest it was honestly fun to present to the kids and answer there questions. I honestly think that I would love to do it again later on in the future.
What I learned this year in Mr B's backyard classroom was that there was many more new organisms living there since last year.. and the grass and trees have actually grown taller. My final thoughts on Mr b's are that many people should go to see to because it is very fascinating and fun to be in.
I learned a lot this year in Mr.B's backyard classroom! I specifically learned a lot about birds and tad poles this year. I had a lot of good memories in Mr.B's but I enjoyed the nature fest and being in the water during it because it was fun and exciting to explore.
Thought out the School year we learned many different things like abought different animals organisms and ecosystems like Mr.Bs which is a very help source for us.My favorite memory was when When we worked in groups toward the end of the year and had to work in Mr.Bs andought our topic.
One of the things that I learned in Mr. B's and something that I will remember is macro vertebrates. The guest speaker explained everything very thoroughly. My favorite memory at Mr. B's is exploring for the first time there. It was very fun.
My favorite memory was when Mark was screaming because Chris and I scared him by garbing his leg and making hissing sounds.Mr B's was great and I loved to go when we had the chance,
My best memory of Mr. B's was during the spring and everybody was looking at the microinvertabrates and Ashley got scared of the bug exoskeleton so we chased her around with it. I learned that ponds carry a lot if different species and they are muddy and gross. Mr. B's is a fun place to just get outside and have hands on activities. And it definitely beats sitting inside and book learning
I learned lots at Mr.b's Backyard.I learned about water sheds, micro invertebrates, and much more.My favorite memory is working with friends, walking around the ponds to try and find the species in the area.My thoughts about Mr.B's is that it's a fun place with lots of life in and around it.
I learned many things this year in Mr. B's Backyard Classroom. I learned the life cycle of many more plants and animals. I also learned about macro invertebrates this year. If it wasn't for Mr. B's, I probably wouldn't have learned about macro invertebrates at all, or have seen one. My favorite memory in Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was at Naturefest. I love fishing and my groups topic for Naturefest was freshwater fish and Mrs. Sommers allowed me to bring in my fish. It was a lot of fun being able to cooperate with fish all day and it was a great experience. Mr. B's Backyard Classroom is truly a ton of fun, its a great way to learn hands on.
I learned a lot from Mr.B's backyard. It was better to see it in person than in a textbook. You can see the food web. Everything in it, the plants, the toads, the snakes were shown in Mr.B's Backyard. There are many animals in Mr.B's Backyard. It was cool to see the life than in a textbook. I learned how it is important to take care of the environment. Many things can live in a small place like Mr.B's Backyard. My favorite memory is seeing the snakes and scaring people with the sight of them. Mr.B's Backyard is fun but also informative and is worth showing the kids.
I learned all about the organisms in Mr.B's and their habitats. My favorite memory in Mr.b's was the Nature fest and holding the Sunfish. I think Mr.B's is really cool and always should be apart of the science classes at GTMS.
We learned a lot in Mr. B's this year. Specifically, I learned about a lot of birds and the animals that live in the two ponds. Some things I wish we would've done is have more gust speakers and do more activities. The things I liked being involved is watching the birds and seeing the animals in the pond, also walking around the trail. Something I didn't know is that Japanese beetles are bad for your garden. We can't really improve the research. We have books and we have the internet, so there's not much more we can do. Something we can do to improve Nature Fest is to get more tents. Besides that Nature Fest was fine. I had a great year at Mr. B's.
This year I have learned a lot from Mr.B`s. I have learnt how to tell the differences between the two types of snakes. I have had a lot of memories from Mr.B`s. One of my favorite memories was cleaning up the backyard. we were cleaning out the backyard picking up the plastics and everything. So, we were walking and we had heard shout tadpole.there was a tadpole on the ground ,out of the water. It was my first time seeing a tadpole so I was really excited.after we all saw it we had let it go back inside of the water.that was my favorite part of Mr.B`s backyard.
what I learned in Mr. B's backyard classroom was lots of new things for example water sheds and all about the animals that where in both pounds and the guest speakers in Mr B's was really good at explaining what she would teach us. My Favorite memory was when we would do all the experiments for example dry ice, popcorn, and many more.
My favorite memory of Mr.B's is how Fredy and I went in the pond with the wavers.Mr.B's in opinion was fun and enjoyable. I learned that macroinvertebrates determine the water quality of a pond. If the macroinvertebrate is not tolerant, than the pond is is better than ponds with tolerant macroinvertebrates.
Something that I learned this year in Mr.B's backyard classroom is that there are two types of basins in Mr.B's. The first one is the detention basin and the second one is the retention basin. The detention basin is what holds water temporarily to prevent floods and it is sometimes dry. The retention basin is what holds water permanently to prevent floods. Also, Mr.B's is a part of the Mullica River Watershed. My favorite memory was when we did dry ice and the ice cream lab. Also, my favorite memory in Mr.B's was when we did Nature Fest. It was really fun to be outside in Mr.B's throughout the year.
This school year I have learned a lot from Mr. B's Backyard. I enjoyed many things. I learned that in Galloway, we have many organisms. For example, I did not know how many types of snakes and Turtles we had. Also I learned about bullfrogs. We observed a life of a bullfrog starting as a tadpole. We began to see the legs start to develop in him and after a few weeks the tadpole began to look more like a frog. It started to shrink its tail too. My favorite memory was the nature fest and seeing all the kids and teaching them.
This year was a great overall year but one of the best parts was Mr.B's backyard classroom. There was many thongs we did and learned about in Mr.B's. my favorite thing was the nature fest. It was so much fun presenting and watching other people present. This is such a great activity and it will be great for future students to do.
Honestly, I think Mr. B's Backyard Classroom extremely contributed to the environmental science unit. At first, I could hardly understand anything involving environmental science. When we started going outside to Mr. B's Backyard Classroom, I could understand everything. Over there, I learned about various species and how to contribute to the environment. We (my classmates and I) learned about macro-invertebrates, reptiles, fish, and more! Learning became hands-on and more fun! My most favorite part about Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was the Nature Fest. In that, I got to share my knowledge with several different kids. It was amazing to see all the kids come out and learn hands-on, just the same way I did! Overall, Mr. B's Backyard Classroom is a wonderful place where learning can come alive, literally!
my favorite thing about Mr b this year is teaching the kids about the thing that you research and just had funny teaching the little kid they was inspire to learn about animals that they didn't know about
In Mr.B's Backyard Classroom, I learned many things. Specifically of which, the balance that an ecosystem has to sustain to continue.By that, I mean that every species has a role and if a species is taken away, the whole balance gets greatly interrupted since it is all a food chain
My favorite memory and the most important thing I learned in Mr.B's was the when we had hands on lessons in Mr.B's and learning about all the different species such as Northern-Water Snake, the Mallard Duck, and the Mocking Jay bird.
Specifically I learned about how many organisms and the different kinds of organisms living in Mr. B's. There are so many organisms there that you would never notice if you didn't look. My best memory there would have to be when we did nature fest. Teaching all the kids about my subject was so much fun, watching them react to finding out something new was amazing to watch.
I learned that Mr.b's is full of nature and also how much life is in Mr.b's.
I learned that Mr. Bs backyard is full of nature and has a lot of life in it. My favorite memory was me and Angie making a trail across the pond. Also climbing the tress.I aslo thought I saw a lizard.
My favorite memory of Mr. B's was when all of use were doing nature fest and everyone wanted to play my game. It was a very good experience. Me and my partner had tons of kids come to our project. I would like to do it next year.
This year in Mr B's backyard classroom I learned so many things about New Jersey's ecosystems. I learned about water sheds and how they are important to the way we live. I also learned about the animals and reptiles native to Mr B's, such as the black racer, bull frogs, northern water snakes, and a little bit about the mallard duck. All in all a pretty eventful year. A favorite memory of mine was, I was sitting on the other side of the main pond there all I could see in the water was tadpoles! They were every where, then a northern water snake swam by causing them to scatter. Mr. B's is a great way for students to learn and have fun doing it, or at least its better then sitting in a stuffy classroom. That is everything I have learned and enjoyed in Mr. B's.
I learned that there aren't just frogs, tadpoles, snakes and insects in ponds. There are also small organisms that you can only see under a microscope. I also learned that dragonflies start out as insects without wings that live in the water for four years. Then they go on land and grow wings and fly around for about two months, then they die. My favorite memory is when Makael came running out of the wood screaming "snake, snake, it could've eaten me. My final thought is that I wish that there was fish, but of course they would probably eat all the wildlife.
This year in Mr.B's Backyard I learned what a macroinvertebrates was. I knew that there were little bugs living int he water, but didn't know what they were called, and what they looked like. I thought you couldn't see them at all. But, a guest speaker came out and told us about them, and we got to see them up close.
My favorite memory was all the snakes that were out there during the spring, and now. Seeing this one big one was pretty cool. It was thick, and pretty long. If you were standing at the right angle, and spot you got to see it go into the water and take off.
Mr.B's is a nice place to learn about the environment, and what lives near us in our pine lands. Mr.B's is a nice place to go relax, and learn about nature.
I learned so many things this year in Mr. B's Backyard Classroom! But there were a couple specific things that really caught my attention.
One thing was the Northern Water Snakes. In the spring/summer time I would see about an average of six snakes each time I went! Sometimes there would be huge thick black snakes near the banks and they would stick their tongues out! I would also watch them peek their head up above the surface and it was cool to watch. I didn't know they ate bullfrog tadpoles, so that's one thing I found surprising.
My favorite memory in Mr.B's was when me and my friend
were walking along the path in Mr.B's and we spotted a bullfrog tadpole laying right in the middle of the trail squirming! I can't believe we saw it!
I really enjoyed Mr.B's this year, and I saw so many different species throughout the year! I will really miss it!
In Mr.B's I learned a large scope of information. My science teacher, Mrs.Sommers, presented to me a vast pond ecosystem that we call, Mr.B's. One thing that I specifically learned was to just enjoy the nature around, as my teacher always cites anytime we walk around Mr.B's, "Move little, see much, move much, see little". One of my favorite memories was encountering snakes by the edge of the pond. My final thoughts about Mr.B's is that the incoming seventh graders are in for a treat, otherwise known as, Mr.B's.
I liked the path, it was nice and a good way to walk. You could really see things. My favorite memory was walking the path for the first time and seeing many birds. Mr.bee is a really good place for kids to learn.
I learned about all types of animals. Also I learned about green houses.Other stuff too.
I really enjoyed teaching at Nature Fest and feel like the way it was set up worked very well. If I could change one thing I would allow the other teams to join in instead of making them take notes
The nature Fest this year was probably the best time of this year, it was so fun to teach the little kids about Mr. B's backyard and about my project. I loved being involved in this. This was a great opportunity and I hope to be in this next year!
I learned about a lot of new species this year, I also learned about their habitats, and diets. Mr.B's backyard gives you a great opportunity to find and learn about new wildlife! My favorite memory was probably when I was with a group of my friends in Mr.B's and we encountered a live snake, we all panicked but it was funny! I'm gonna miss Mr.B's!
I loved nature fest I liked how we got to have our own little lesson and that we could teach and that we had control of what was happening and I also liked how there was different posters and different things for the to learn about.
The thing I learned from Mr. B's this year is watersheds are important to the environment. My favorite memory from Mr. B's is when I first saw the garden for the first time.
I learned how important it is to have places like Mr.B's backyard. And to take care of them. My favorite memory of this place would be when we presented for nature fest. i just liked how we got to stay out side and teach others. Also I got to see some of my old teachers.
Specifically, this year, I learned about macro-invertebrates. The beginning of the year, I didn't even know that was a thing. I thought there was bugs then rodents. the most memorial thing was when I went to reeds road, and I was in the hallway, I would see Mr.B. He would smile and say, "Hey Marsico! What's up?" everyday. I was am so glad that i have been apart of Mr.B's backyard and i hope to continue to be involved.
This year in Mr.B's I learned about watersheds, macro-invertebrates, turtles, snakes, ducks, and many kinds of birds. One of my favorite memories was when me and some other students found a baby turtle in the larger pond. It was really cool to see the different stages in life and how such a small turtle is a big part of a big area.I really enjoyed going to Mr.B's this year and I hope I can visit it next year.
I learned about snakes, insects, pollution, and so on. My favorite memory for Mr. B's Backyard is Nature Fest because i had so much fun teaching others about a topic and it was just fun. My final thoughts about Mr. B's is that it is a great place to be if you love nature. But overall i think Mr B's Backyard is awesome.
All this year, I have always looked forward to the days that we go out for Mr. B's. All of the ecosystem behind a gate. I can not imagine how lucky I am that I get to learn about various bird species, macroinvertebrates, and so much more all in the same year. Most don't get to experience this which is kind of upsetting to think about. I'd have to say my favorite experience from this school year was presenting in Nature Fest. All though we weren't the most popular, or most aesthetically pleasing group, it sure was fun to "school" people in some knowledge on newts. From what I've seen, Mr. B's just keeps getting better and better, and I hope that I can keep visiting frequently before I must leave for another school. These are my final thoughts on Mr. B's Backyard Classroom.
This year in Mr.B's I learned about macro-invertebrates and how they are a big help in the environment. Most importantly, they have the ability to indicate water quality. Also, they provide a valuable cleaning service which helps recycle nutrients back into the system. My favorite memory was seeing the Northern Water Snakes for the first time.
In Mr.B's Backyard Classroom I learned many interesting things about nature and the ecosystem we live in. I saw snacks and frogs up close and learned more then I known about macro invertebrates, mallard ducks, Ospreys, and many more. Everything I learned about in the Mr.B's Backyard Classroom this and the past years strengthen my love for nature. I just hope the new comers of Mr.B's learned as much as I did!
Something I learned in Mr.B's backyard this year was all the organisms the rely on it. I remember a Millard Duck was found and it had created a nest for its eggs to live. My favorite memory of M.B's is walking around the pond with my friends and exploring all the nature i did not notice before. I remember seeing the snake holes in the ground that i didn't notice the year before. My final thoughts about M.B's is it was a great learning experience for everyone and everyone seems to enjoy their selves. I really forward to it next year!
This year in Mr. B's backyard, I learned multiple things about nature, such as macro-invertebrates and their habitat. Weather conditions, types of plants, and organisms that I never knew were in Mr. B's backyard.
My favorite memory about Mr. B's is Nature Fest. Although there were minor issues, it was still a ton of fun, working with the kids at the elementary schools and teaching them about my organisms with my friends. The making of the project was entertaining and it was relaxing, just staying outside for the day. Mr. B's Backyard was a nice experience for the year.
I learned that it's a great environment for plants and animals. My faverite moment at mr. Bs is the pond.
I've learned many things about all different living things.
