I have many observations about Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. I noticed a big pond as soon as i stepped into the gate. I also saw many wild animals like Canadian geese, baby toads, Carolina wrens, and a wading bird. I noticed that there were many beautiful plants. Something that surprised me was the fact there was a big water snake in a small pool of water off of the pond. I would like to do more research and teach others about the animals and plants.
My experience at Mr. B's back yard was a memorable one. We were able to see an American bullfrog, a wading bird and a northern water snake from a safe distance. However, do to recent dry temperatures the water level at Mr. B's has dropped so much that you can see the bottom of the pond.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr.B's was very interesting because i did not know we were going to see frogs and toads also a black cherry. It was really cool to see the dried out pond and the cattails. The next time we go back i would love to see more birds and more plants.
Something that surprised me was the water snake i found with a group of people. The snake was large and almost came on the shore it was a brownish blackish color, it kind of looked like it was slimy the snake was the best I have seen. It was cool to see the drought because now you can see the process of the water coming back.
What I learned when I went to Mrs. B's Backyard is it started in 2010,and surprisingly I didn't know that even though I went to Roland and went to Mrs. B's a lot.Since I went to Mrs .B's in first period it was really pretty and peaceful and quiet.I saw a at least 5 foot snake in the water,it was amazing.
My first visit was amazing, it was relay muddy and there was a lot of animals like the northern water snake and the bull frog. there were a bunch of trees and not deep water.
My first visit was pretty cool. One thing that surprised me was most of the animals i have never seen most of the animals that i have seen that day. I am looking forward to going there in the future.
My first visit to Mr. B's backyard classroom was great because I got to walk through nature and see things I haven't seen before in New Jersey. One of the cool things I saw was a water snake in a small puddle sticking his head up.
This year wasn't my first year, but it was still fun. In 7th grade, you don't get out much besides of gym, so going out to mr.bs was fun. This was the first time I ever saw the one pond empty. There are many animals, and wild life. There were tadpoles, frogs, gold finches, birds, and many more creatures. it was a great experience!
my visit to Mr.B's was really cool, but it was kind of scary for me, because i don't really like frogs but other than it was really fun exploring a new place like this. when i saw the ground hog wholes and the snake i got really surprised. you usually don't see snake.i was also surprised that there would be a place like this hidden behind the trees and the fences. i'm looking forward to study the place and see all the cool things that are there.
Water snakes were the most interesting part of Mr.B's backyard.I noticed lots of ground hog holes, which was very cool.I would like to go to Mr.B's backyard more often cause it was a cool experience.
When I first walked in I saw two geese and a bunch of trees. I walked around and saw a frog and a water snake.

My first seventh grade visit to Mr. B's backyard was amazing it was a lot of fun, nice and it was just all around amazing. Something that surprised me was really everything like how much the plants had grown since I was there and there was not as many animals I had seen last year like there were no snakes coming out the water then going back in if scared. Well i'm looking forward to seeing all the wildlife and I hope to even see new animals when I go.
It was very exciting, and I look forward to learning about birds and fish. I was surprised to see cattails.
The experience of going to such a wonderful habitat of animals in our area was amazing. Even though I've been there before, I saw many new things such as a the pond at a lower water level, groundhog and snake holes, and even a fallen tree! It may not look like much from far away, but it's bustling with wildlife. I'm really looking forward to participating in the Go Green Nature Fest.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr. B's was astonishing because I saw insects and bugs that I usually don't see in everyday life like the damsel flies. I look forward to seeing other animals.

Something that surprised me is all the different kinds of animals, I also saw some holes on the ground. I look forward to discovering new things at Mr. B's, also seeing the change of the environment when spring comes.
My first experience at Mr.B's classroom was great! I saw a couple species of animals I have never seen before such as damsel flies.I also saw a holly bush and what caught me by surprise was that a toad popped out from underneath that same holly bush. I am sure that as the year goes own, we will learn more in Mr.B's classroom and I am looking forward to it!
Something i found cool was the ground hog hole on the path. The ground hog hole was cool to me because the hole was huge for one hog to be living in. The ground hog hole was covered with leaves and dirty.
My first 7th grade visit at Mr.B's Backyard was amazing. Even though I've been there before it was amazing to see the changes over the summer. It is always interesting to see the changes from fall to spring and winter to summer. The ponds, the holes, and the trees and plants are amazing and I am so excited for this year to learn more about Mr.B's Backyard.
It was cool that we saw 2 baby frogs hopping around everywhere. Also we saw a blue stick dragonfly flying around.Another one is that their was a empty lake all dried out of water and the fish died that was in their.
Every time I go to Mr.B's I there's always something new to explore. I was really surprised on how the place was dry instead the pond being full of water. There was also a lot of more bugs and insects than usual.
This year i'm excited to learn more about weather because in the previous years we only went out a couple times a year.
So knowing we'll be able to explore it more this year is amazing.
I was surprised to see all of the creatures that were there i for one didn't know that all of those creatures could be in one place. One of the COOLEST things i saw was the snakes that were slithering around and i even saw about 2 snakes! I thought the lovely lake was very big with many different kinds of trees around it. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the different creatures!
My visit to Mr.B's was very fascinating, even though I have been there before, I saw many changes due to the weather and the drought. The second pond had dried out, and a tree had fallen on the path. There was also many species out roaming around.
It felt like a special place to me it made me feel special because there was lots of beautiful animals and lots of nice plaints. I'm looking forward to learn more about the community.

My first visit at Mr.B's backyard was fun and cool. Something that surprised me was finding things that i never really seen in nature before such as snake skin. What im looking forward to see is getting to see some garden snakes and different animals.
I was really surprised at how big the place was. Outside, you saw nothing but I was really surprised inside. I liked the trail because it was longer than I thought and there was lots of life there. I'm looking forward to see everything that has changed and the differences at different times of the year.
I was really surprised to see the amount of water in the lakes this year. It allowed us to observe closer than ever and to get up close to some of the birds there. I noticed that there were many dragonflies/wildflowers this year and that there were many (possible) empty snake/groundhog holes. I am looking forward to going there more often to see the changes in each season, especially in the spring/summer time.
Mr B's was very fun and I got to see many different animals. The snakes were very fast and the toads hopped into the water. There were lots of tadpoles swimming. Over all it was very fun and i'm looking forward to going back to Mr B's.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr B's was really fun and I really enjoyed it. There is a great variety of wildlife such as birds and insects and bugs. Something that surprised me was the size and how much life really is there. One thing that I am looking forward to at Mr. B's is seeing even more animals and living things than I saw this first time.
I was surprised to see that one lake was full, but kind of low. How ever, the other lake was so dry that it was cracking. I also noticed that what looked like snake holes were actually gopher holes. I liked how the frog's eyes were the only things poking out of the water, and you could see the rest of their bodies were just floating in the water. Mr. Bee's Backyard is amazing!
I was surprised by the animals that i seen in the water. the thing that was really cool was that i saw 2 big groundhog holes. i am looking foward to see more animals in the water.
My first visit to Mr. B's backyard was surprising. My visit was surprising because I didn't think that it would look like no human touched it. One thing that I thought was cool was being able to see the snake
My first seventh grade visit to Mr.B's was a blast! The fact that a ground hog peeked his head out of his hole was amazing because I have never seen a ground hog do that with people around. I'm looking forward to learning more about nature at Mr.B's!
when i was at Mr.Mr. B's i didn't think that there was gonna be ponds and living creatures but there actually was. what surprised me was the HUGE ground hog holes. i wish i could go back again.
I was surprised at how many birds and bugs were flying around. Other times i went there wasnt as many animals out but this time there were. Also, the plants have grown a lot over the summer. The detention pond is empty and the other pond has a low water level. Those are some of the things i noticed at Mr. B's Backyard.
I thought it was really cool that there was a place at this school that had so much wildlife and was so close to nature. I saw so much cool things like snakes and frogs and birds and it was really fun
When in first visited Mr.B's it was really cool that it was actually in the woods. It really surprised me where it was and how many living things are in there. Also there was so many groundhog holes. I really looking forward to go back to Mr.B's to see how it changes as the seasons change. :)
This years was not my first year going, but my first year going as a seventh grader. It was very different then usual because we were observing the area not just running around then leaving. I did notice some changes from last year such as the water level was surprisingly low. You could practically see the entire bottom of the pond! The detention pond on the other side was completely empty with no trace of water. It was dried out and the ground was cracked. The trees over there were overgrown in some parts and make the area very shady, which was nice. This year I am looking forward to Nature fest, researching different thing that live here.
At Mr B's it was so amazing how there was so many animals in one spot. There was also a variety of wildflowers and plants and the classroom was set up so that the animals felt at home and comfortable except at the same time the setup allowed us as students to observe and learn. There were so many colors of animals and some even looked liked they were lit up like the damsel flies! Finally I'm looking forward to learning about the environment and it really teaches us to appreciate the habitats around us in our everyday life.
I noticed that there was a lot of Wild Flowers! I also noticed that frogs were hiding in the abyss of the pond. Something that surprised me was the Turkey Vulture! I would like to research the types of "Wild Flowers" I would teach others about plants and the animals that live there.
My first visit to Mr. B's backyard classroom was awesome. It was really cool to see all the amazing wildlife. As soon as I walked into Mr.B's i was amazed at the birds, dragon flies, snakes, toads, and frogs. Something that surprised me here at Mr.B's was snakeskin laying near the water. Another thing that surprised me was the noise that the frogs make. Something that was cool was the groundhog holes laying around. I am looking forward to seeing more wildlife and surprises at Mr.B's
My first visit to Mr.B's Backyard Classroom was amazing. I was surprised by the amount of dragonflies and other organisms zooming around.around. I saw a turtle's head poking out of one of the lakes. I'm looking forward to exploring more of Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr. B's was very cool. I got to see animals and different kind of life I have never seen before. Something that surprised me was that I saw a cardinal. I have never seen a cardinal that close, before I had a cool first experience at Mr. B's. I am looking forward to seeing more cool and surprising moments at Mr. B's. I am also looking forward to see new animals and plant life I have never seen before. I am really looking forward to this year at Mr. B's.
Since I have been to Mr.B's before I know a lot of information about the ponds, the biggest difference there was from last year for me was the water level. In the retention pond the water was dry on about all of the edges which obviously is different from fairly close to the path. Unfortunately every time I've been to Mr.B's the detention pond has been dry.
I was so excited to go see Mr.B's Backyard Classroom for the first time. I saw a lot of interesting things when I went. I noticed that in one of the ponds had no water and the other one had water but not that much. Also I saw a lot of different wild life that was out there. I can't believe how beautiful it was and how relaxing it was. I can't wait to go out again and see more animals and more things.
I wen to Mr.B's back at Reeds Road like at Spring of 2015,but there were a few changes I realized when I came back. The first thing that caught my eye was the grass. The grass was SO tall,in fact it completely covered the trail. The other change is the lake. The lake is completely dried out there is absolutely no water in the lake. The last change was the creatures.I don't know if its just me but I didn't really see a lot of animal life. These are the changes I saw when I went back to Mr.B's.
Before my experience at Mr. B's I wasn't an environmental person. After my first visit I was instantly in love. I was surprised as to how much I was missing out on. The importance of our ecosystem and how important the environment is held me in shock. I'm really looking forward to learning species of trees and animals. Even learning how each thing helps the other. Overall, Mr. B's was a fantastic experience and I really am looking forward to going again and again.
I was surprised that their was so much wildlife. I saw snakes, cardinals, mourning doves, dragon flies, damsel fly, cattails, ponds, and different varieties of trees. All around Mr. b's backyard classroom was a blast.
Something that suprised me on my first visit to Mr. B's was that there was a dried out pond because of the lack of rainfall in our area. Also, I didn't think that the ponds would be as big as they are. They both had a lot of wildlife around the perimeter of the pond. I really enjoyed the visit and am excited to see how much it changes over the school year.
My first visit to Mr.B's was amazing! I loved all the nature and wildlife there. It surprised me when I looked at the pond and there was nothing there! I asked Mrs. Sommers why there wasn't any water in it and she said that its a man maid pond so if there's not any rain there won't be water in it. I loved Mr.B's classroom also because there were a lot of different birds I never knew about!
When I went out to Mr.B's for the first time it surprising. It was surprising because all of the animals that were there from frogs all the way to the doves. The first place I went was to see the docks and then when Mrs. Sommers came over to talk to use a random frog appeared out of know were. Then I went to the dried pond and I heard that last year the water was half the size of the trees. But ether or Mr.B's was amazing I would want to go back
I have been to Mr.B's Backyard before when I was in Reeds Road. But this time I was very surprised to see that there were so many dragonfly's out there it was unbelievable! Also that the lake was dried out I have never seen it like that before it is usually either really high up or flooded. Lastly I was surprised at how much the grass had overgrown from the last time I was there it was up to my knees! When I come and visit again I will be looking forward to the new species that will be there.
I was surprised that one of the lakes didn't have water in it. I was also surprised to see little tadpoles and frogs. I really liked that there were a lot of different types of birds. I'm really looking forward to seeing the lake to be filled with water and amphibians. I hope that the tree that fell won't be there it will get moved. Mr. B's classroom is a very good environmental place and it is filled with wildlife and creatures. I really hope that next time we go there will be a new species there.
I went to Reeds Road and have been to Mr. B's before. However, when I went there again, I was surprised by how much it had changed over the summer. The ponds, which were filled to the tree level last spring, are almost and completely dried out. Also I'd never seen a snake up close in Mr. B's before, and there was one on a log in one of the ponds. This year, I am looking forward to watching Mr. B's Backyard Classroom change over the seasons. I am also looking forward to participating in Nature Fest again
Visiting Mr.B's Backyard for the first time this year was really fun I was surprised at how low the water was in that one pond.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr.B's was incredible because i never seen so many insects in one place. Something that surprised me or was really cool to me was that there was so many dragon flys all over the place it was really cool. What i am looking forward to Mr.B's is amazing experences.
Coming back to Mr.B's backyard as a seventh grader was fun. The most exciting place that stood out to me the most was the former pond. The ground was slushy and squishy.
When I first walked into Mr.B's backyard I was really surprised to find one of the man made ponds completely dry because it has not rained in awhile. One cool thing that I saw was two Dragon fly's mating. One more thing, is when we were set off to go explore Mr.B's backyard there was a lot of long grasses that were taller than me and I am 5 feet tall.I had a lot of fun exploring Mr.B's backyard for the very first time.
I was surprised at how it looked. There were so many animals for example dragon flies, frogs, bees, and ladybugs. Also one of the two ponds was all dried up. The last reason is how many amazing plant there are at Mr.B's. Mr.B's Backyard classroom was beautiful and I can't wait to go there again.
I never noticed that there were to two things to measure the level of the water until I went to Mr.B's backyard again. Also I was surprised to see that there was a tree with pink leaves, because there usually aren't any.
My first seventh grade visit to Mr.B's was the same because I have been there in 5th and 6th grade.Something cool was I seen a snake eat a frog. But something surprised that the little pond dried up, it happened because of the drought we are in.
In elementary school I went to Reeds Road. When I used to go to Mr.B's I used to love seeing the animals, and the plants, and just being out doors and seeing cool wildlife animals. This year I was actually surprised though because the one animal I loved seeing wasn't in the spot where it usually is. I usually find snakes near the back, but when I was there I saw that the water in the back was further back, and I was not able to see any snakes. Even though I didn't see any snakes I still enjoyed going to Mr.B's Backyard Classroom and seeing the other animals and plants.
it was cool
This was my first time at Mr.B's and it was an amazing experience. I got surprised by the tall grass and the path around the big pond was fun to walk through. There was also a lot of bugs.
It was so cool that there was new bug like the Dragon Fly. It was the first time I heard about that bug in all the times I have been there. I also learned about the plants. So I learned more new things this year then few years back.
I was surprised at the dried pond. I never been in the pond when it was dried. Another thing that surprised me was when the dried pond was still muddy.
Something that surprised me was I did not see any kind of reptiles and bird but I did see a camouflage frog that I never seen before.
When I went to Mr.B's for the first time I was shocked to see that the pond was dry.I saw a really cool dragonfly that was white and black and went really fast.At Mr.B's next time I want to see snakes
MR.B backyard was amazing, I had the iPad and I took pictures. It was my first time in there and it was amazing. But after i ad a 1 inch spider that was white on me so be cautious! but over all it was good.
While i was in Mr. B's i noticed a bunch of things, but the thing that got my attention most was the Wild Black cherrie tree. The fat that the tree was around for so long, but looked like it was just planted a few days/ weeks ago. Im really looking forward to seeing hawks and more bugs!
Being at Mr B's back yard was so cool cause i got to see many new things. One of the things i got to see was a dragon fly that had shade of blue on it. also i got to see lots of worms going into the dirt. One of the there things is that i saw lots of tadpoles in the water and many many frog.
Good to be back
Its was nice to be back at Mr. B's. There were many times in which something amazed me there yesterday. Like when I saw the man- made pond had dried up. In addition to that I saw huge frog. I am looking forward to participating at the Nature Fest. Returning back at Mr. B's was awesome.
my first seventh grade visit to Mr. B's backyard was really fun I saw different things like the outher pond was dry and Isaw more things than last time.
Mr.B's backyard is a great way to learn and respect nature and its beauty. You can learn about animals you never even kew about. Like the northern water snake, toads, frogs, birds, and even plants. It's an awesome expirence that you don't ever want to miss for anything
On my first visit in 7th grade, I saw a lot of different things.I noticed things like the animals, snakes, different bugs, and birds. Not just animals, there were many different kinds of plants that grew in Mr.Bs. One plant was the trees like weeping willow which pick up water. There are benches to sit at and a dock, to relax at. I noticed birdhouses near the pond.My first visit in 7th grade was amazing even though I went there last year. Every time I go it has different looks,it never is the same.
When I first went to Mr.B's backyard I was surprised to see all the plants and animals. I could here the crickets making sounds and I was surprised to see that Mr.B's backyard was jumbling with life. It was really fun to not only learn about the things out in the gardens but It was really fun to actually get to see how it looks and hear the sounds that they make instead of looking at pictures and watching boring videos.
It was very cool, the best part was when there was a load of blue dragon flys on the pond.
I LOVED my first experience at Mr.B'S. It was so amazing, I saw many things but some that stood out were how they were tiny baby toad all over the place and how snakes lurk around the water. The flowers were so beautiful and there so many of them around the lake. I also noticed that it is so peaceful and quite. Since we went the earliest I feel like we got to see some more animals than other people. I cant wait to go back I look forward to seeing more animals like birds and snakes. I LOVED my first experience!!!!!!!!!
My seventh grade visit to Mr. B's Backyard was really interesting. I got to see lots of different animals I haven't seen in a while. I saw a long snake , I think it was a black racer snake.I also saw bullfrogs and frogs all around the path. I'm looking forward to cleaning and taking care of it.I would love adding new animals to it also.
My first 7th grade first trip was great I got to see a lot of nature outside like geese and diffrent flowers. Something that surprised me was the dry pond because of the weather which is cool. At Mr. Bee I am looking forward to Nature Fest at Mr.B. I love MR>b and I get to learn a lot every year.
Besides the fact that the day was the absolute beautiful, and the water looked very peaceful..I had such an amazing time at Mr.B"s backyard! I have never thought about nature this way, Mr.B is such an amazing place and i never wished to leave! From water snakes to yellow flowers...Mr.B has it all and I have an opportunity to see it all! I wish i could go back there and go searching! I really hope in the future that i can visit Mr.B's backyard again! If so, I look foward to the nature fest!
Every time I go to Mr.B's I am prepared to see something new every time I go I learn something new last time i saw a eastern water snake
I have never been to Mr.B's before, but my first trip was very informative and I look forward to going back again. I thought that the ponds were going to be small and it took me by surprise how large they actually were.I learned the difference between a damsel fly and a dragonfly.I was very surprised that the detention pond was dried out. I am really looking forward to helping to clean our environment and learn a lot more about the local wild life
The thing I thought was surprising was that the grass had got higher since the last time I went out there in 6th grade and I noticed that the was a groundhog hole. In 4th grade I was in a trailer and we heard the groundhogs scratching under us and it was really cool. When I went out there I saw a lot of dragon flies then what I did before.
