I learned many things in Mr. B's backyard. Some things include macro invertebrates, bird watching, watershed and many, many more things. My favorite memory is at the Nature Fest, when I got to hold a baby Northern Water Snake the whole time. It was fun when the kids were amazed at me holding the snake. Mr. B's Backyard is a fun, enjoyable place to learn because its hands on, and you get to see the hundred of organisms that live there.
This year at Mr. B's backyard this year is that there is a lot more to nature than you think there is. I learned that there is not just bugs deer ducks, but also learned the importance of how the plants and bugs play a huge role in the environment as-well. My favorite memory by far is when i lead tours in and out of Mr. B's on open house night because i got to meet my friends and also more people coming here next year! My final thoughts on Mr. B's is that i will miss it and always remember the good times i had when we would venture out into the backyard.
I learned about pond, trees, insects, and birds in Mr B's Backyard. My favorite memory in Mr B's Backyard was Snakes because for my nature fest my topic was snakes and in Mr B's Backyard there is only two kind of snakes Water snake and Black racer.
Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was pretty exciting. We got to do many wonderful things out there. We saw many different types of insects and different types of snakes and frogs and birds, etc. It was one of the only chances we got to go and experience nature in school. The only thing that kind of annoyed people were all the bugs that bite and sting. But to sum it up, Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was a really fun experience.
1.) I learned many things in Mr.B's Backyard. But one thing sticks out more than others. It's how we can come together as a community and have a great day like this.
2.) My favorite memory was when we sat at our table and taught them about birds of prey. I especially liked seeing turtles and other cool animals that i would have never seen without Mr.B's
I learned many things in Mr. B's backyard class. I learned that different animals can live in the same habitats. There were all different types of birds, snakes, plants, and bugs. We learned almost every one of those organisms through out the year. My favorite memory was the nature fest. It let me spend more time in the backyard and discover things more. I had fun being the teacher for the day even though it was a little tricky with kids not paying attention. It was a great year in Mr. B's backyard. Made me more interested in nature now.
In Mr.B's backyard, i learned that all kinds of species live in Mr.B's. Such as, song birds, snakes, turtles, rabbits, and so much more. My favorite memory in Mr.B's is discovering all kinds of plants, such as, shrubs. Mr.B's Backyard is a great example about birds habitats. The area is very crowded, which doesnt allow others to examine the area as much. Other than that, Mr.B's is perfect for any science class.
I learned that nature is important. I dont have a special memory because everytime I go out there it's always a memory because it reminds me of Mr.B. I'm so glad they made the Mr.B backyard classroom because not only is it a good way to look at animals but it also is a great memory of a good science teacher.
This year in Mr.B's backyard I learned about micro organisms and water sheds. We even had guest speakers come in to talk to us about these topics. Also, we learned about the animals that live around Mr.B's and how they lived. By doing this I did the Red Tailed Hawk for the Nature Fest. My most memorable moment in Mr.B's is in the begin of the year because it was my first time there. It was a cool sight.
I learned that nature is inportant and I dident know mr. B but he must be a really great guy to have done all this work to make the backyard but i dont just have one favorite memory because i learn new things every time i go out there my final thoughts about mr. B is he was kinda and he loved nature
This year in Mr. B's backyard Classroom I learned a lot about the nature around my area. I didn't realize that so many organisms lived near me. I also learned that organisms in the water can yell you weather the water is polluted or not. I had fun getting to go outside and not be stuck in the classroom for 180 days. Mr. B's Backyard Classroom gave me a real experience with nature.
My favourite memory about Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was when we went around the ponds and cleaning trash. I felt good that i was helping earth and the animals in Mr. B's Backyard.
This year in Mr.B's classroom I learned how to classify a bird. I learned in the Nature Fest that owls spit out owls pellets. My favorite memory is when we had the Nature Fest. It was really interesting and fun, I loved it.
Mr.B's backyard is the home to many different animals. so we have to keep Mr.B's backyard clean and healthy for the animals to continue to live there. The nature fest was a really fun thing to do. My group and I taught about birds of prey and i also saw some of the other presentations that were really cool. I went to this tent were i saw many different fossils of animals and plants. i thought that this was very cool. My favorite memory was when one of my friends fell inside the pond at Mr.B's. it was really funny and everyone started laughing.
Mr.B's is great because for the Nature fest team A had to teaches 8 graders, Roland Rogers, Reed Rrode, and Arthorand.
At the Open House use kids had to take the familys out for the tour.
I learned many things about birds and other animals in Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. I also learned about watersheds and learned that many creatures including microrganisms are in Mr.B's. My most memorably moment at Mr.B's was when we went outside and noticed all the birds and frogs that lived in Mr.B's. My final thoughts about Mr.B's is that I had a wonderful experience and always will remember Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
What I learned this year in Mr. B's is the different types of animal species. To be specific i learned background info on White-tail deer's , Birds, Turkeys and etc.
My favorite memories of Mr. B's was the nature fest. We were able to basically skip school and hang out with younger kids teaching them about a animal of our choice.
My finial thought on Mr. B's is ...... You Were very fun, you carry nature at the palm of your hand. You made me fascinated about learning about your animals, smelling your moist air brought a smile to my face and happiness through my spine.
Mr.B's backyard was one of the most fun experiences in school I've ever had! It allowed me to reach new hights in learning about the world. I've never seen such a place where a person can just walk in and be given the most welcome feeling just like that. I remember all the birds that flocked and sang in harmony while I walked the trails to the far side of the pond. I remember the times we would catch all those tadpoles, frogs, and insects to examine their health. I also remember examining through a microscope, all those phytoplankton and zooplankton that swam in the healthy and beautiful waters of Mr.B's. All of this has been a life changing experience that gave me a new way to see this earth as a living organism rather than a huge pile of dirt and plants. I will miss Mr.B's Backyard when I go to 8th grade. But it was fun when it lasted.
This was my third year participating in Mr.B's. I leaned that in the three years of participating in this event many things such as, how to identify a bird by its habitat, color, and shape. I learned alot about my topic that I choose (songbirds). I learned why they sing, what they eat, why their bones are hollow, etc. This was a very exciting event and I hope that all the younger kids will be able to experience the Nature Fest and Mr.B's. I taught kids and teachers about birds and they were very into it. I hope I can participate in this event next year as well.
1. We learned many different things in Mr.B's that help us have a better understanding of nature. We learned how pollution can harm even the smallest pond and things like pesticide can have a harmful effect on organisms no matter how small.
2.Mr.B's was a fun and active experience which I will probably never forget. It was interesting to see the animals first hand instead of reading about them from a book.
The nature fest was great, seeing all of the diferant species that lived ther like the Northern water snake, toads, birds, ect was so fun to watch and learn. My experiance with teaching the kids was kind of disapointing, mainly because the kids came let us get through just two facts out of the twenty we had, most of the time they just came read wrote and left. the games we had didn't interest the kids the were just more worried about getting there assighnment done but all and all it was great non the less.
I have learned that nature is more important then what i might seem in the begining. If it wasnt for mr.b's backyard wouldn't have known anything about spiders and their food and habitat. My favorite memory would be a current event that happened, it was called the Nature Fest and that was my favorite day of the year. Mr. b's backyard is a place where you can explore and see things that are all in one aera and it can be a very useful place to younger people that will come and see the world and can just love it. So, thank you for all your time and effort this year.
I learned that their is life in Mr B's. Micro organisms and frogs live here. Most of the creatures were reptiles and birds. I learned even though theres no fish birds will adapt and eat the reptiles. My favorite thing we did was the Nature Fest. I learned that turtles come in varies ways. Also that there spine is connected to their shell. I thought this was interesting.
1. What I learned this year in Mr.B's was all of the different kind of species there were in Mr.B's. for ex: the different species of snakes and birds.
2.My favorite memory from Mr.B's is the Nature Fest.
3.My final thoughts about Mr.B's is that is was fun being out there and exploring. It was a good experience for me. Iam going to miss it.

2 I had a great experience this year about Mr.B's and hope people next year have the same experience i had but hope they have a even better one.
This year at Mr.b's i learned a lot about nature and animals. Also i had a lot of fun doing something different and going outside.
This year, I learned a lot about our ecosystem, specifically why this is such a good birding area, the animals in this area, and how the habitat works. My favorite memory is going to Mr. B's and seeing my friend's sister. Mr. B's was interesting
This year . I learn so much about what lives in the pond for example frogs, And diifernt bugs. also i learn alot about birds that I never knew that they even live in New Jersey , I enjoy taking walks to Mr B baclyard and watching all the birds
I learned that there are so many different animals and insects.I never new that there were so many little species in water. I also learned about water and where it goes. There were so many cool things in Mr.B's. I loved when we get to walk around the whole backyard and it was just so nice. Learning about new things is always fun. Mr.B's was great.
Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was always a highlight of science classes. This year, I learned a ton about plants in New Jersey and a little bit of bird identification. My favorite memory was the Naturefest. It was very cool to see all those plants and their uses. I think that Mr. B's is awesome, but we need to take care of it better. I saw some trash and really beaten up plants after the Naturefest and such. Overall, my experience at Mr. B's was great.
this year i learned so much stuff about mr.B's backyard because i used to hate snakes and frogs and now i know that they are harmless where i am. Ialso learned alot about watersheds and when i first came here i didnt really care about anything in the wild life. When we learned about the wild life it really is just like us but just want to survive.
It was fun to teach the kids about the nature fest. being outside stuck in the heat..was bad. But overall it was fun and i had a good time.
I had an amazing year at Mr.B's. Mr.B's was an excellent way for students to learn more about what is in our own backyard. We learned so much from Mr.B's. We learned about the different organisms in the retention basin of Mr.B's. We also learned that Mr.B's is full of plant and animal species that we never knew about. There are so many different organisms in Mr.B's. I was saddened to hear that this was probably our last year at Mr.B's, but I will never forget all of the memories that I have collected.
i think that going outside to Mr. B's was a great experience and i wish to come back next year.
I really liked Mr.B's Backyard classroom. I learned a lot about nature and the animals that live there. I started to realize what could happen to the animals there when people put trash and litter over in Mr.B's and how it can affect the animals and wildlife. But other than that I learned a whole bunch. For example learned how rain can affect the water level. And also a cool thing was that there was a lot of snake holes and a lot of cool turtles, tadpoles, birds and more. It was cool at Mr.B's. I hope to go back there soon.
I learned so much this year at Mr. B's Backyard Classroom. The most interesting thing I learned was the quality of the water in Mr. B's. Also I learned a lot about different species of animals such as the Red-tailed Hawk, Mouring Dove, American Robin, Bull Frogs, and much more. Lastly I learned about what Mr. B's is and what it does which helped me understand everything much more. My favorite memory from Mr. B's was the Nature Fest. I got to see some many animals around Mr. B's and saw things a didn't even expect to be there. The best part was when a snake slithered past me and one of my partners. To sum things up, Mr. B's was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. This was a great chance for all of us students to learn what is in our own bakyard. Mr. B's was one of the best things I've done this year.
I learned so much this year in Mr.B's Backyard. However th one thing that stood out to me is when we learned about macroinvrtibrtes. I thought it was very interesting how these little bugs are very important. They tell you how good the water quality is depending on the amout of macroinvertibrates living in the water.
I think Mr.B's was a great learning experince, and im happy I got to witness this.
This year I learned about many different animals in the New Jersey. I also discovered what a watershed is which was something I had never known before. My favorite memory was when my friends and I were walking down a path a this huge snake goes right between his leg and went into the water. Also when we almost caught a rabbit with our bare hands was a good memory too. I though Mr. B’s was very fun this year. I learned so much in Mr. B’s. It was nice to go outside. It really was interesting and a good way to learn. It kept me excited and wanted to learn. It made learning about the environment so much more fun. I really did enjoy Mr. B’s backyard classroom this year.
My year at Mr. B's was pretty good. I got the chance to experiance nature first hand. I think all the lessons done at Mr. B's deffinitly made me respect nature and all native species to New Jersey alot more. All thogether I've learned so much, and actually enjoyed learning about all the things too. If I had the chance to come back to Mr. B's in eith grade I deffinitly would take up the offer.
I learned about birds, like the red tail hawk, and red winged black bird. Also I learne about micro organisms, like nyphs. I think that Mr. B's is a very fun place and very educational. And I love how I could learn more stuff about other animals and teach other people about my expeirience . Ryan Hillman 2013!
In this school year I have learned many new things about species and plants in Mr. B's backyard. Some of the things I learned about was many birds like red taled hawk, red-winged blackbird, canadian geese and some plants i learned about was the cat tail plant also ive learned aobut macro invertabrates and different types of frogs. -Morshed Majumder2013
1. This year, I learned a lot from Mr. B's Backyard Classroom. To begin, I learned how many different species of living organaisms were actually within the two ponds. I also learned their ways of living, for example, their adaptations and where they typically live. I also learned about the food web for Mr. B's which was interesting to find throughout the ponds.
2. My favorite memory was definitely the Nature Fest because I enjoyed teaching all of the students about my topic, A Frog's Life, and i enjoyed learning about it myself.
3. Mr. B's Backyard Classroom is certainly a good way for children to learn about our enviroment and different species we have in New Jersey. I learned a whole lot of information this year and I'm posotive student to come will as well.
In this year what i learned about mr.b's backyard was about different species and different animals like about the tadpols. I also learned about cleaning the water and dont leave it recycled. My favorite memory about mr. b's bacyard this year was the nature fest.
I learned so much due to Mr. B’s Backyard classroom. I learned about lots of nature from different species of many animals including birds, frogs, snakes, and other animals around Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom to the smallest creatures in the pond, micro invertebrates. I also learned specifically about frogs because that was my nature fest topic. My favorite memory from Mr. B’s is probably when my peers and I discovered a huge snake at the nature fest. It was so cool but many of my friends screamed and ran away. I love the fact that we get to experience and learn about nature in our own backyard. It was a great year at Mr. B’s and I had a lot of fun learning there.
I learned that there is a lot of species out in Mr.B's backyard and espically a lot of birds. All types of different kinds, such as hawks, black birds, and red wing black bird. This year that I was in 7th grade was a great year to experience in Mr.B's backyard. This year was a lot of fun in Mr.B's backyard and I learned alot espically with everything that went on in the nature fest and with all my friends outside and children coming to my table to learn about my animal which was a box turtle! This year in 7th grade was a lot of fun. (:
In Mr. B’s back yard I learned that you will always need to protect our animals and help our environment be successful. My favorite moment in Mr. B’s back yard was when we went outside for the big nature fest and we had to teach the younger kids our topics on animals.
i learned all about the organisms and how they lived and my favorite part was the nature fest
We learned that there is animals in side mr.bs back yard.
I learned about what different kind of animals and plants are in New Jersey. Also, I learned about what are watersheds and how to determine a bid species. My favorite memory has to be Mr.B's Classroom Nature Fest because getting to hang out with my friends and classmates all day, teaching people our topic and being outside. The downfall of that is we all got terrible sunburn. My final thought on Mr.B's Backyard is that it was a great experience for me and hopefully, getting to do it next year.
Mr.B's Backyard Classroom was a unique experience to learn about nature and it's beautiful animals and plants at close. There were millions of organism we saw and learn about. It was also a great funner way to learn about science. One thing that really standed out the most was the Nature fest.
The Nature fest was a really fun experience to teach children from our township schools about nature. Also teaching about our nature topic , mine was edible plants, made me learn a ton the same time. It was a cool fun day at the fest. Anothere thing was about all the kinds of birds found at Mr.B's backyard. A guest speaker even came and explained even more about the different kinds of birds found.
Hi I don't know if any one has went to the nature fest but it was very cool. I learned that dragonflies live in the water for most of it's life then shed it's skin. Guess what they only live for a month after that.did you know that we have snails in our ponds and water penny live in their too.Have you ever wondered what was the blubugs flying around they are called damselflies. Just like a dragonfly it lives under water to but they don't shed skin. Riffle beatles are like little flies that fly around in the air and bother you they only swim in water.
mr b backyard classroom was a wholesome experience which taught all students in mrs sommers 7th grade classroom about nature. the animals, how the animals live, and how the nj ecosystems work. all in all i loved mr b's backyard classroom
What I learned in Mr.B’s was the different types of trees, birds, and other organisms that surround Mr.B’s. Also I learned how many other organisms like microvertabraies were in the water. My most memorable time in Mr.B’s was when I first came to Mr.B’s where animals were found all over the place! I Hope the next generations of 7th graders enjoy!
The nature fest was the best! Intense learning, seeing friends from your past and present grade and more importantly, Just everyone having fun. Through it was hot and there was little to no shade, it was a group, it's a grade effort. And I even learned some new things about birds, frogs, ducks and even about my own topic, snakes.
Mr. B's was exciting at first, I thought it was a one time thing. It got boring over time because I'm not much of a science person. The many species were interesting, and unique. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
What i learned in Mr.B's was about pollution. Pollution is wrecking our planet and were not doing anything to help. We should all just one day pick up trash till its all gone.
My Favorite thing that i loved about Mr.B's is about the life and animals the roomed the place. Like the Frogs, snakes, birds, butterflies, etc. It was a wonderful experience that i would love to look and do again next year. So long 7th grade ♥
I learned that there are many species in ponds that I didn't know about, and I probably still don't know all of them. My favorite part was when we just walked around and got some observations on some insects, animals, and plants. My final thoughts was it was fun, but difficult.
I learned that there are a lot of insects that live underwater for their entire life. Next, my favorite memory is teaching all the little kids with everyone during Nature Fest. Mr. B's is great for learning about nature and what is right in your backyard.
What I've learned from Mr. b.backyard is that there were alot of snakes in thw water. Also there were so many birds and butterflys that i got to examine. Plus when the nature fest came i did butterflies and i got to be an expert at it and i learned that all butterflies are cold blooded. As well as having guess speakers to talk to us about there jobs and what they do. I've had a great time at Mr. b. backyard and im glad i had a chance to do this.
Mr.B’s is a great place to visit. You can learn many things about what’s around us everyday. But, this year I have learned about macro invertebrates. Which are these tiny bugs in the water to determine water quality. We also learned many ways we can help change our world. We can pick up trash and car pool to reduce fossil fuels in the air. If we car pool less oil will go into out Mullica river watershed.Mr.B’s is a great place to visit. You can learn many things about what’s around us everyday. I learned a lot of things in Mr. B's Backyard Classroom. I enjoyed going outside to the pond a lot. I also thought that the Nature Fest was a good thing that we had the chance to do; we got to teach other kids things about nature. My best memory about Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was when we were looking at a shallow part of the pond, and we saw about 200 tadpoles that were all different sizes. A couple of us got to see them in action and see how they act in their nature habitat. Later, we went back to the same place that we saw them last and most of them were a lot bigger & more mature.
I learned that after dragonflies/damselflies mate, they die.
My favorite memory was going to the Nature Fest.
This year I learned a lot about the species in Mr. B‘s Back yard. I learned what type of frogs and birds that is native to New Jersey. My favorite memoire of Mr. B’s Back Yard was the nature fest. We had gest speakers and students who got to teach lessons. Plus we got pictures and got to see cites where the species habitat is. Also going out to Mr. B’s Back Yard was a privilege and I’m happy I got to be apart of it for the past tree years.
Mr. B's tought me that there are plenty of living things i didnt know are around me. i did not know that in galloway's ecosystem there are many different species. I also learned how to pollute less.
I learned a lot about nature and animals. Like snakes I learned so much information that I didn’t know. My favorite memory is the Nature Fest; it was fun seeing everyone’s project and learning more about snakes. Mr.B’s is interesting because it was like a pond in your backyard and you can go learn.
I leaned a lot from Mr.B's backyard, i think everybody should have the chance to go out there and learn new things. We have been out there multiple times, but the number one thing that really stood out was when we got to grab the nets and went out to the pond and scooped up the tadpoles. It was very interesting to learn other things such as insects, tadpoles, and watersheds I really enjoyed going out there, thank you
I learned that we should take care of our water sources and prevent pollution in order to see different spices of animals and plants. My favorite memory from Mr. B's backyard is the Nature Fest. It was fun teaching about our topic and listening to others'. I also enjoyed the experience of watching the change with plants and animals through out the year. I most definitely like the hands on learning/teaching part of it.
The first time we went ou to Mr.B's I was impressed of what had change. Last year the small pond was bone dry, this year the pond was filled with water. Brand new species in Mr.B's, and it was a beautiful site to see. When the seasons were changing Mr.B's was even more beautiful than it was previously in the year. The one memory that I will not forget about Mr.B's was when we went to see how high the water level was with the stick in the pond and when Mr.T went canoeing.
This is the fist time I ever do Mr. B’s and it was fabulous. It is very entertaining. You get to see a lot of animals that you have never seen. In Mr. B’s you get to do so many things, it breaks my heart that I won’t be able to come to Mr. B’s ever again. I am shore I am going to miss going at least once time a month. When you go to Mr. B’s be shore to take care of those animal and be safe.
The thing that I learned at Mr.B’s, is that the depending on the organisms inside the pond, that can determine the water quality. For example, if there are a lot of a certain type of organism that can mean that the water has too much pollution. But, if there is another type of organism that means that the water is fresh and safe for humans to use it and interact with it.
My favorite memory from Mr.B’s is the nature fest in general. The fact that we got to go and teach other kids about what is in our own backyard is just amazing. Even though I had some knowledge about my topic, I got to go out and learn even more! I even learn about so many interesting animals and insects.
My final thoughts about Mr.B’s is that it should keep going. Students should continue to learn and discover about all those fascinating animals! The nature fest is an amazing way to give students a push to help. It allows us to visually see how important it is.
In Mr. B's backyard class room i learned about macro invertebrates with Cassandra. This was very cool because we got to search the water for one cell organisms but also we saw some organisms we didn't know about at first.
Also we learned about birds Tiffany wildlife biologist. This was cool because we got to see birds in there natural habitat going o with their normal life. If you think about it you never real think about birds only when they bug you, we think they are just another animal.
I had an amazing time in Mr. B's Backyard Classroom. This year I learned so much about my environment and how to care for it. I especially enjoyed having guest speakers come and teach about certain topics. One time we had two women come and teach us about birds. It was really fascinating to see the birds up in the trees and soaring through the sky. For the Nature Feast my topic was the Atlantic Ocean. I thought I knew a lot about the Atlantic Ocean, but when I started researching about my topic I learned so many new things. I learned about all the different types of marine animals. Presenting in the Nature Feast was the best part about Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom, because I got to share with others what my group and I have been researching for weeks.
What a year at Mr.B's backyard! Our classes were non-stop fun and interest. One thing that we did was finding birds with people from Edwin B. Forcythe Wildlife Refuge and classify they're species. Another lesson we learned was about micro invertebrates with Cassandra. One lesson I really love was when we learned about micro invertebrates with Cassandra. We learned that micro invertebrates determine the water quality. I am very disappointed that I cant go to Mr. B's backyard class room in eighth grade next year. I will always love Mr.B's Backyard Classroom
In Mr. B's backyard I learned that many animals in our world are becoming extinct. The oil from cars is going into the lake and killing water animals. I also learned feom my wiki page that snakes smell with their tongues. My favorite memory of Mr. B's was when we saw the Northern Watersnake. My final thoughts were that Mr. B's was a nice, fun expierience for me.
I learned lots of cool things at Mr.B’s. I didn’t know that the male bird sings to attract the female bird. I also learned that there are a hundred types of organisms living there. My favourite memory at Mr.B's was the Nature Fest, It was a way to teach other people about the wonderful things at Mr.B's
my favorite memory was the nature fest it was very fun. i learned about lots of animals near me. my final thought was that it was AMAZING
When I first went to Mr.B’s I was amazed of all the different animals that were there. When I was at the nature fest telling the kids about species toad they listened to me the whole way. I got to experience catching the toads and letting the kids see them and see what they really look like. When we were out finding birds I learned that there are many kinds of birds out there. One of my most favorite times going outside in Mr.B’s is when we got to look at the food chains in Mr.B’s. For example, we got to find out what different animals eat around us and in Mr.B’s. This year in Mr.B’s I learned many amazing things and a lot about nature around me that I never new before.
This year in Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom I have learned a lot about nature. I realized how important of a habitat Mr. B’s is to some species such as the Gray Catbird, Northern Water snake, and the American toad. I also have a better understanding of how bad of an effect pollution has on the animals and pond and we should all try our best to prevent it. I also know what a watershed is and how it works in the ecosystem. One of my favorite memories of Mr. B’s Backyard classroom is when I saw the red-winged black bird up in the treetop. It was just chirping beautifully and I was so amazed. In the end I have learned a lot from Mr. B’s and given the chance, I would definitely do it all over it again.
I learned that nature is important and we need to protect and nurture it.That is what i learned from Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
Mr. B's Backyard Classroom was definetly one of the highlights of my year. With many of places to explore and many of spices to discover its the best place to go for science class. It is hard to pick my favorite part, but if i had to chose onr it would have to be Nature Fest. What i like about it was instead of being the students you got be the teacher.
What I specifically learned this year in Mr. B’s is that of my project in the nature fest. I learned that there are many different varieties of plants that I could find in my own backyard. My favorite memory is when we did the nature fest. During the nature fest I had the most wonderful time of my life. I also really enjoyed it when they guest speakers took us outside and showed us different things that we didn't know about. If I could I would re-live this year all over again. Now that would be a miracle!
Mr. B's Backyard Classroom this year was great! I really enjoyed it! I learned lots of new things about the organisms and different species that we have here in New Jersey. The Nature Fest was really good because I not only taught others about watersheds but also learned about many other topics. I realized how bad pollution is, and how it's ruining our one and only planet Earth. We need to keep our land and water clean. Overall, Mr. B's was one of my favorite places this year.
My expreince at Mr. B's was great. Every time I went i enjoyed being active with nature and being outside. Learning about so many things and exploring felt great. This was just a great place to be with oour society
In my seventh grade year, I learned and enjoyed many of my experiences at Mr.B's. i specifically learned so much about watersheds, ponds, species, and my local area. My favorite experience in Mr.B's was the Nature Fest , although my station was not the most popular among students , it felt invigorating to share my knowledge among children and adults. My final thoughts on Mr.B's relate to how thankful i am for it, Mr.B's was a phenomenal learning experience for me and many other students. :)
My experience at Mr. B’s backyard classroom was a very good one. I enjoyed it, and I can honestly say that if I had the choice, I would do it again. Mr. B’s is so much different than just learning at a desk in a classroom, it’s so much better. So many kids were more interested in learning because of Mr. B’s. I learned a lot because of the program, mostly about watersheds, and why it’s important to keep our water clean. I also learned about micro and macro invertebrates, the different species of animals, ponds, and many different things. I also learned a lot due to the Nature Fest, I was educated about different organisms, and ecosystems. I really loved the experience of Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom, and I am very saddened that I will not be able to experience it again next year.
This year I learned so much! My favorite part was getting so much information about plants and animals in my own area. Many times I was able to point out different species of animals or types of plants outside of school, impressing my parents and also myself. The experience was fun and I guarantee ill remember what I learned from Mr.B's forever!
Mr.B’s backyard class room is a great way to get outdoors and experience nature. We have learned so much this year…and not just from a book. We are able to do hand on activities that enhanced our learning experience. Not only did we learn about different species of birds, but we went out and identified them. I am going to miss Mr.B’s but I will remember the fun times, and great learning experiences from it.
I thought that Mr.B’s backyard was a really good learning experience for me instead of going to somewhere farther. When I thought at Mr.B’s it was great experience to learn other topics to like when I took my break I went to my friends stations and learned about topics. All in all if had to pick to bring back Mr.B’s again in eighth grade I would again.
This year in Mr. B’s I’ve learned a whole lot from what kind of organisms and animals live there to actually learning how these animals effect us. Also there were many cool experiences that happened in Mr. B’s backyard to pick my favorite but if I had to pick I choose the Nature Fest! I loved working on my topic (the turtles) and then going outside and teaching the younger kids and even some of the teachers.
This year in Mr.B's back yard I learned a lot about all different types of speices such as damselfly's and dragon flies. I also learned about trees. My favorite part was teaching the little kids and taking them on tours. I gained much more information in Mr.B's. I hope the kids enjoyed this experience as much as I did. I will always remember this!
This year, I learned a lot from and about Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom. Specifically, I learned about what type of pond Mr. B’s is. I have also learned that there are many types of different species. For the Nature Fest, I taught little kids about trees. My favorite part was helping teach little kids about their surroundings. My favorite memory about Mr. B’s is being able to learn in a completely different environment than a classroom. My final thought about Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom is that it was really enjoyable. I hope the other kids enjoy it as much as I do!
I thought that Mr. B’s backyard classroom was a great place to see many different types of insect, animals, and plants. I learned many different things about the animals and insects like where they live near the pond or what they eat. My favorite part about Mr. B’s was catching some of the things that live in the ponds or near them and getting to observe them. I had a great time going out to Mr. B’s backyard classroom and also liked learning about a topic for the Nature Fest.
Mr.B yard was a great experience this year. We learned a lot out there. Looked a lot of animals. We didn’t just learn from our text book, we learned about tons of other things. We looked at animals, and learned a lot about nature. I wished we could out in 8th grade but we can’t but, it was a lot of fun, and awesome. I really loved go out there, thank you Mrs.sommers
I learned a TON of new things here in Mr. B’s backyard. There are so many interesting things there, like the black snakes, and the turtles that live in the water. I never knew that dragonflies spend most of their life underwater! I learned so much about things like watersheds, and the Pine Lands, that I truly think it was worth making such a classroom. I also learned a ton about different species of animals, such as birds, and pond creatures. I still remember when we studied all the different types of organisms in the pond. It was so cool that we could study the leeches and the dragonfly nymphs. I will never forget all the facts I learned that day. I was just fascinated by what I learned!
In Mr.B’s, I learned that there are many species that live there that I didn't even know of! I also didn't know that the two ponds in Mr.B’s backyard classroom are part of the Mullica River Watershed! Honestly, my favorite memory was the first time I went there this year, and I compared it to the last time I saw it the year before. Mr.B’s backyard classroom is a very fun and unique place to learn. It is actually considered a classroom! I hope others around can get to learn about the backyard classroom. It would be a phenomenal experience for everyone!
When I got the letter that states my team and my teachers, I was overjoyed because I had gotten the teacher that would take us to Mr. B’s Backyard Classroom. I learned so much about the specific species of organisms there, rather than just walking around. When we stayed in Mr. B’s for lunch, I was so surprised at the many animals we caught dwelling in the water. Taking notes on birds was also interesting to learn because I've always been fascinated by them. Now that I know how to identify some indigenous bird species, I can look for them in my own backyard. My favorite memory of Mr. B’s Backyard classroom was getting a close look at a bullfrog tadpole. We had been searching for them after school for the Naturefest presentations. I will miss Mr. B’s Backyard classroom dearly, but I hope that the next group of students enjoys it as much as I did.
Mr B's backyard was a great activity that i enjoyed participating in! I learned many about many different topics and even researched one on my own. I researched the ecosystem called the Pinelands. The Pinelands are the really unique and i enjoyed every minute of that project! Overall, Mr B's backyard is very educational and I learned alot!
My favorite memory from Mr. B's is the nature fest. The nature fest was fun and educative at the same time. My group and I got to teach while being outside which was a great change of scenery. As one can clearly see, Mr. B's backyard is an amazing place that you can learn a lot from!
What I learned in Mr.B’s is the variety of different animals and their habitat. I learned about the different water sheds in New Jersey. I loved to walk around and pick up the trash to keep the animals in Mr.B’s safe and sound. The most important thing I learned there was how to keep our neighborhood clean and how to make a change in the world just by doing little things.
I had enjoyed Mr.B's Backyard Classroom so much this year at GTMS. I have learned about new species of animals and their environment at Mr.B's Backyard Classroom. My most favorite topic is definetly and absolutely about snakes since we got to see them and even saw its skin when it shed out of its skin and into its new one. My topic at Mr.B's was frogs and I got to teach kids what they do and how they lived. I enjoyed Mr.B's Backyard Classroom very much this year and was a exiting lesson and expirence.
In Mr. B’s backyard I learned about how the earth gets affected by the little things we do, also, I learned about the watersheds, the animals that live there (birds, snakes, etc.) and how important it is to keep our community clean. My favorite thing about this year was defiantly the Nature Fest, I loved teaching the little kids although they only stayed for two facts and it was extremely hot. It was fun to see their expressions and hang out with my friends.
I really learned a lot this year. I really enjoyed learning about science and nature. I also learned a lot about frogs because I was even making a project about them. I didn’t only learn about frogs I learned a lot about other species too. I never knew that frogs can lay up to 4,000 eggs, and they absorb water to their skin so they don’t need to drink. When I first learned that I was like: “what”? When I was in my country Haiti, I saw frogs everywhere I went and didn’t know their importance, and how they ate harmful pests. Now I know that when I see them, it is my responsibility to help them.
1.I learned that Mr.B's is a water shed and is used to make sure the parking lot/ school grounds don't flood.
2.My favorite memory from Mr.B's is finding a Racer snake under a pine tree.
3.I liked Mr.B's, it taught about water sheds and some animals that live around NJ like Red Tailed Hawks and Racer snakes.
I learned about the food pyramind, and what a watershed is. The food pyramind includes consumers, producers, and decomposers. Decompsers include Fungi and Mushrooms. My favorite memory in Mr.B's backyard Classroom is when we took a sample of what lives in Mr.B's, and analyze them. There were tons of hands-on activities, which helped me understand what we were doing. It's a valuable program because many kids don't even know what lives around them. Mr.B's Backyard Classroom, taught me what lives in the ponds, or how they grow.
What i learned at Mr.Bs Backyard Classroom is that there are more bird types then I thought. Also that theres more things then i thought. They one thing i remember the most is we saw a black racer snake.
At Mr.B's I learned that there was no fish in the pond but there was leeches, snakes, and tadpoles. I also learned that Toads only live in water when they are tadpoles and only come in when they lay there eggs. At nature fest I learned that ticks need blood to lay there eggs. My best experience at Mr.B's was when I saw a racer snake and it was huge.
Mr.B's Back Yard classroom was a marvelous experience of nature. I learned along with my friends, about different topics, such as animals, pollution, and natural resources. I was in Mr.B's Back Yard classroom for 1 school year and i wish i was there longer. It was a better experience that sitting in a class room all day, doing work! I sure will miss Mr.B's Back Yard classroom!
Over the 3 years I had access to Mr.B's i have learned a lot. But this year, i really learned a lot and had an amazing experience. This year, I learned how to identify birds by their markings and how to actually use binoculars. Also, I learned about microinvertabrates and that there are bugs who live in water! Also, I learned soooo much about edible plants for the nature fest. I also learned how hard it is to keep kids focus and the hard job of being a teacher! I will miss Mr. B's backyard A LOT, but ill cherish the memories and moments spent here forever. Goodbye Mr.B's - I'll miss you :' )
Mr. B's is something like no other. You can easily learn and capture new knowledge. You always learn something new with Mr. B's backyard; you can see examples and other resources visually, making it easier to understand. Many people may take it for granted and think it's a right to have but its so much more then that. Mr. B's backyard is a great way to interact with nature and living organisms. Even though I may not have known Mr. B I still like to know that I can be apart of it.
Mr B's Backyard classroom was fun. I got to learn all about animals and plants. I think the best time i had was when we had nature fest. Me and my partner got to teach children all about ground hogs. It was a blast!!!
This year I learned about a lot of nature. I was thankfully apart of Mr. B's for three years. I learn how we can help the environment, and help the animals. I also learned a lot about squirrels because i did squirrels for my nature fest project. I am also sad that this is my last year learning in Mr. B's.
Mr.B's Backyard Classroom was a great place to learn about nature. Going to Mr.B's helped us with our Nature Fest project because some of the topics we had, were already inside Mr.B's. My topic of Groundhogs were inside Mr.B's, there were a couple of Groundhog holes. One day in Mr.B's we went birding. That day was a fun day, learning what each and every birds difference was to the other one. I enjoy going to Mr.B's because it is a fun way to learn about the animals, and plants inside Mr.B's. The new seventh graders next year will definitely enjoy going to Mr.B's.
I've been going to Mr.B's backyard classroom for 3 years. this year i learned most of the types of birds in New Jersey and their habitats. i also learned more about Mr.B's Backyard Classroom.
This year in Mr. B's Backyard, I liked learning about the watersheds and having that hands-on activity where we separate the microorganisms from the pond water.
My favorite memory was when we first came to the lake and Kyle and Kobe both fell in the water and mud. ( ;
This year at Mr.B's Backyard Classroom was boatloads of immense fun. I learned tons of useful information within the class-times we utilized for the class. I, specifically, recall the lesson about water quality. For this lesson, we had a guest speaker discuss many aspects of water quality. We learned that there are many forms of pollution that could make our water disgusting and unusable. In addition, we were taught that there are many species of small bugs or micro-organisms that dwell in the water. These may include mosquito larvae, and pond skaters.
Speaking of mosquito larvae, mosquitoes were a huge part of my seventh grade. It was my topic for two major grades. This first was Mr. B's Animal Guide, and then second was the all-important "Nature Fest". Let me tell you, after the hours of extensive research, I certainly have facts drilled into my mind. This'll be useful if I have a report to do...
I also remember learning about the types of birds that prowl and inhabit Mr. B's Backyard. They were so fluffy and adorable! The little birds jumped and pranced all around, while the predator birds flew majestically overhead.
My favorite memory of Mr' B's Backyard Classroom was the time I was about a foot away from a bird. This was during our Mr. B's Bird Lesson that I spoke of in the previous paragraph. The bird was a grey-cat bird, and it was one of the most precious living things I've ever witnessed.
My overall thoughts of Mr. B's are very good. I love the whole aspect of having a class in the great outdoors. It's enjoyable, and I hope that one day, other kids will be sitting in these seats, typing about their marvelous experiences in the coolest classroom at GTMS.
In Mr. Bs Backyard Classroom this year I learned about all the different living things and what requirements they need in order to survive. I learned about their habitats, behavior, diet, reproduction, and much more! I think Mr. Bs is a great way of learning about our surroundings and how to care for it. My favorite memory from my 7th grade year out in Mr. Bs would have to be when the water shed ambassador, Kassandra, came out with us and we got water samples and dug in them to find all the living organisms. Finally, I think that Mr. Bs will inspire many students to learn how to be kind to nature and maybe even think about becoming part of it even more!
Mr.b's is a great and exciting way to learn things! its is fun to be out there and not feel like your stuck in a class room. I learned many new interesting things out there this year and some of my favorites are..... when the special speaker Cassandra, water shed ambassador came here and did some hands on experiments with us. Like finding all the little bugs and creatures from the water instead of just telling us about it. I have also had many times to just go out there and explore other animals like the birds, some small snakes, and the eastern cotton tail rabbit, was very cool to watch live in their natural habitat and to see their movements and hiding places. Mr.b's has been really fun and taught me a lot of things that i'm glad i could learn in a new way, i'm happy i had the opportunity to be apart of this program and have to privilege to be out there...
1. I learned about dragonflies, frogs, birds. and snakes. I mostly learned about dragonflies. They live up to 6 or 7 years.
2. My favorite memories are being in Mr.B's nature fest, presenting to the kids, and meeting other teachers. I love being in Mr.B's backyard.
Over all the years at Mr.B’s I learn that nature is a beautiful thing. I never knew some species were at Mr.B’s, but now I know by my teachers, By Mr. Lick and Mrs. Sommers. They are both great Science teachers. I would like to say thank for all teaching you taught me. Thank You to my 2 great teachers and all of the presenters.
I learned many things about nature & wildlife in our area that I had not known of before. I was surprised to see how many different species live in Mr.B's Backyard classroom. There were many more trees, plants, animals and organisms then I had expected. The outdoor classroom is a great way to keep us, the students, enjoyed when working on environmental science.
My favorite memory of Mr.B's Backyard Classroom was walking around and finding sassafras. This is my favorite memory because I was really surprised to find a plant with two different scents. Roots of root-beer and leaves of lemon. Also it was one of the very first things we had done when going out side to Mr.B's. Mr.B's Backyard Classroom is important to me because it is where I had meet my best friend. Without this outdoor classroom I never would've meet a friend who has done so much for me. This outdoor classroom is a great learning experience & an enjoyable one too.
what i learned in mr.b's back yard class room is that i never knew that dragon flies can live under water. also from my nature fest project i learned that fish live in a wide variety of habitats also there not in Mr.B's ponds so there is no fish in. my favorite was going and teaching about the nature fest for as long as its been going because i was in Roland Rogers and i went to the nature fest when i was in elementary and it was really fun for me when im in 8th grade im gonna miss going to the ponds almost every month
This year at mr.B's backyard i learned so many things, i learned about the snakes and birds that live back there. i learned a lot of interesting facts about the great blue heron preparing for the nature fest, like they can have from 3 to 7 eggs and dont feed any of them until all the eggs hatch. i also have been coming to mr.B's backyard since i was in 5th grade, this year was really fun and i got to see frogs and tadpoles along with all the other beautiful animals. one of the teachers from reeds road told me while i was presenting at the nature fest that one time, there was a great blue heron by the pond and it had a broken leg and died. i remember a really funny time when Kyle and Kobe fell in the water and stained their shirts.
I've been in Mr. B's Backyard's Program for two years. I have learned multiple things about nature, ponds , and animals. I really enjoyed every time we have found a snake.
This is my first out Mr. B's, but I found it extraordinary. We learned all about things like snakes, macroinvertebrates, and watersheds. My favorite memory was when I had the black racer in my net (it got out though). Mr. B's was a great outdoor experience that I would undoubtedly have
What I learned this year at Mr.B's was that many tadpoles and snakes live in the pond.My favorite memory in Mr.B's was seeing the snake near the water and we got to see it become defensive. My final thoughts about Mr.B's is how the organisms will react to the hot summer or how the birds will migrate.
