what i learned about watersheds is spectacular. I learned that they help protect the environment and are found around swampy areas. Watersheds are really cool. They also sometimes give animals homes. Water sheds come down on a drift. Which basically is like a mountain where it makes it come down off a ledge.

The watershed is the place that has clean water in a body of water. There are so many things we can do to protect our watersheds. Like don't throw your trash in the ocean. Also don't use pest asides on your lawn. The the pest-asides get washed away when it rains and it flows into our drinking water. Our watersheds basically is what lets us live everyday. We get our water from w watersheds. Watersheds are essential to life.

I learned that all of the water supply we use in Galloway comes from the Mullica River Watershed. It's important to take care of them so we can conserve the water for the future when we're going to need it. Also, there are some countries which don't have water like we do, so we should use it wisely and carefully in case we have any natural disasters.

I learned that there are two different types of watersheds, the detention and retention. The detention watershed holds water temporarily while the retention watershed holds water permanently. I also learned that Mr.B's is part of the Mullica river watershed, and that Mr.B's has detention and retention watersheds. While at the presentation, it was mentioned that watersheds are very important to the ecosystem, but like all things they are being polluted. Why are they so important? It keeps the surrounding areas from flooding. Without the watershed, the land would flood more quickly, so much so that we could potentially swim in it. Not only that, but it provides a whole ecosystem of its own, and without it all those animals will be " homeless." That is why it is so important to protect the watershed. From the presentation I also learned about all the things that can pollute the watershed, such as scat, litter, and even fertilizer. Finally, I learned that there are two types of pollution sources, point and non point. Point means that you can easily identify the source while nonpoint you can't. That is what I learned during this presentation.

Watershed is an area of land that drains to a body of water. The water goes from a high point and flows down to a low point that is a sea. The watershed can also become polluted really quickly and easily. For example: the water will pick up tradh on it's way down to the sea, and another one is there is also oil, fertilizer, pesticides, and soil that the water will also pick up on it's journey. There are also ways to protect the watershed too, for example build ponds/lakes, clean up trash if u see it, recycle, and plant trees and plants.

I learned many things about watersheds and why it is important to take care of them. First, I learned that Mr.B's Backyard Classroom is a watershed. A watershed is a section of land that collects water, which is later drained into a specific body of water. Also, I learned that watersheds could be easily polluted. During the presentation, the class put "trash" on the display of the watershed. When we sprayed water on the model, the "trash" was pushed into the watershed. The water in the model became brown and polluted. This was a small scale version of what happens when people litter. Next, I learned that watersheds can cross extremely long distances. Some watersheds, such as the Mississippi River watershed, cross over multiple states. Finally, I learned that it is important to protect watersheds. Without them, water would not reach certain places. Animals or plants living around watersheds would eventually die. Watersheds supply drinking water and water for farming, too. I learned many things about watersheds and why it is important to take care of them.

When Jessica showed us her representation on watersheds, it really sent a strong message about the environment. I learned many things, including what a watershed is. I learned many things about water sheds, and many reasons on why they are important. First of all, watersheds are areas of land that drains a particular part of a body of water. Without watersheds, many of our oceans,lakes, and ponds would be polluted and contaminated. Earth has only 2.5% of freshwater, and of that percent only 0.3% is found in surface waters. Humans are polluting that 0.3% of water by littering,air pollution, oil leaks, and the use of pesticides and fertilizer. The runoff water would flow into the lake, with dangerous and harmful chemicals. With out watersheds, our fresh water and salt water would be polluted.Everybody should help, it only takes an extra second to throw away garbage. Just by doing that, it gives the pie another piece. The pie is finally finished when we restore Earth's glory, and who doesn't enjoy pie? Protecting watersheds is a big part in the environment.

When our watershed ambassador came to Mr. B's I learned a lot about the watershed's importance. I never knew how easy it was to pollute. Did you know trash, and soils are actually pollutants? I was unaware of that! I also just found out that we have two basins in Mr. B's. We have one retention basin (holds water and prevents floods. A retention basin also increases ground water,) and a detention basin, (it temporarily holds water and prevents most flooding.) I also had no idea Mr. B's Backyard is a guest to the Mullica River watershed. Lastly, we should really protect Mr. B's and out watershed. Let's all protect the wildlife down in the water, and keep our water free from pollutants. Want motivation? Just think, if we let our watershed become polluted, we could one day be drinking our own trash and litter. This is why it is important to take care of watersheds.

When we went to Mr. B's to learn about watersheds, it's like learning about a whole new thing. At first I had no idea what was a watershed. I thought it was a shed of water. How silly of me! The visitor came in and talked to us about watersheds using a scale model of the environment. She told us that watersheds keep and hold water in the environment to avoid flooding. It was kind of like a shed of water spread throughout the environment. Another thing she told us was that it is very important to protect our local watershed from pollution, as pollution can affect our watershed and make water polluted and dirty. The watershed holds lots of water to avoid flooding. What's the use of holding all that water if it's becoming dirty and going to waste? The visitor was also talking to us about retention and detention basins, which both hold water. A detention basin holds water for a temporary time, while a retention basin keeps water in it. We learned all about watersheds that day. I don't even know if anyone in our class knew about watersheds until a visitor came in and taught us about it. It was really a new and interesting topic to learn about that day. The best part about it is that we went to Mr. B's to learn about it. Learning about watersheds that day truly made Mr B's an outside classroom!

Going to the Mr.Bee backyard classroom I learned so much about the water house I learned that you could help a lot of animals by not putting trash in the water or on the ground because the animals in the water an up on the land they could eat the trash the water poison the water and the animals drink the water swim in it could affect them so much as us to if we need the water to drink we could get poison to so what learned to day is that try to keep the earth healthy and try making animals live nicely with out getting sick or worse try recycling your trash as much as saving the animals water and us to try to do your best and help animals and keep from poisoning are water to through trash and keep are water healthy because if not more animals despair and are water wont be so healthy anymore so take it for really and keep water safe.

The water shed presentation i learned that we have two water sheds in Mr.B's backyard. One that is just temporary for holding water so we don't flood...that is why you see the temporary one empty a lot of the time. The other one which is used all the time...Because it is never empty.The water shed if for collecting water that when it rains it run down the road and into storm drains because the road can not obsorb the water.

I learned it's important because our Earth contains 70% of water and nearly 40% are polluted. This means that this water is not suitable for drinking, swimming, and living fishes. It is important that we have the watershed so we can drink from it and we could have living fishes for food. We really need watersheds in life.

Today we visited Mr.B's Backyard and watched a presentation on water sheds. Water sheds are areas of land that drain to a particular body of water. Its important to take care of the water sheds because they help prevent floods. I learned that there are two kinds of basins, a detention basin and a retention basin. The basins are where the water drains to.

Watersheds are an important prat of the environment. They give homes to many wild animals and plants. It is important that we take care of them so they can live on and provide food and materials we need for essential things in our lives.

I learned that it is important to take care of the watersheds, becouse I didn't know how much of an impact just some of the little things that we do have such a great impact of the watersheds.

A watershed is an area of land that drains to a particularly body of water. The water goes to a high point to a low point of a slope by gravity. Watersheds can be polluted by liter, oil, and gas etc. Point pollution is where you can point to the source and non point is where you can not point to the source. Watersheds are important to protect because without it the world would have more pollution. There are ways to protect the watershed. Some ways are to plant more trees, having watershed programs and not to liter. Watershed are important to the earth.

A watershed is an area that runs into a common body of water. These include wetlands, lakes, streams, estuaries, aquifers, or even the ocean. Individual acts can affect any watershed. A watershed that leads into a body of water has a private and public sector. it is important to take care of a watershed because watersheds supplies drinking water. Animals need to be able to live in this water. Watersheds are suppliers for swimming water, drinking water, and animal existence. This is why it is important to keep watersheds clean. I learned a lot about watersheds. One of the main things I learned is that if you don't take care of your watershed it can get very polluted very easily. Even the slightest hill can mean that things can run off into the water source -- like dog waste or human waste. Air pollution can mess up a watershed, too. For example, in Yellowstone National Park, when the wolves were not in the environment, it actually changed the course of the river. I was surprised that such a little thing could mess up the watershed. We can take care of them by not littering, be knowledgable about where the water goes and starts. I really enjoy Mr. B's Backyard and look forward to going out in it.

At Mr.B's back yard we learned about watersheds. I learned that its not good to leave trash laying around, so when I see a piece of trash laying on the ground I pick it up and put it in the trash.I also learned that oil can leak out of vehicles and get in to oceans,lakes,or ponds, and if it does it can kill all of the living things in there. Also when oil gets in to oceans or lakes it can get into our drinking water and we can die. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
